While some characters have become intriguing parts of the story, others are pushed to the background, with Lu Shaotang being a major example.

Interestingly, even Lu Shaotang’s voice actor was initially confused when she was hired, unsure about her role’s significance. In aninterview with MANTANWEB, Nobunaga Shimazaki (Sakamoto’s VA) shared an incident, he said:

Lu and Shin from the Sakamoto Days

Sakura-san received a report from her manager saying, “I passed the audition and will be playing the role of Lou,” and when she asked, “You’re the heroine, right!?” she was told, “Isn’t the heroine Aoi…?” and the more she dug into Lou’s position, the more confused she became.

Lu Shaotang is a major supporting character in theSakamoto Daysseries. She is the daughter of a Triad family, but once introduced, the mangaka relegates her to a background role, limiting her story to just being part of Sakamoto’s store.

It’s been a long time since the narrative focused on Lu, and fans are demanding more iconic moments featuring Drunk Master Lu and Modboss Drunk Lu fights in the series.

Sadly, Lu is constantly sidelined, while Shin, just another employee at the store, gets to showcase his skills, making Lu’s constant presence in the shop a bit depressing for fans. Nevertheless, fans are incredibly excited for the first episode premiering on Netflix.
