Disney making fun of itself has reached another level when an actor wearing a Deadpool costume made a joke at the expense of a recent tragic incident. Reports emerged earlier that a woman, Kanokporn Tangsuan, had died from a food allergy at Disneyland due to the alleged ignorance of the restaurant. Her husband, Jeff Piccolo, reportedly could not sue the company initially due to a bizarre reason.
The husband had signed up for a Disney+ subscription and agreed to its terms and conditions. It was reported that one of the clauses in the agreement stated that both parties have to resolve any issues by binding arbitration. The Deadpool actor made fun of the clause in his act at Disneyland, but the joke rubbed fans the wrong way.

When fans visited Disneyland recently, they were welcomed with an act by two actors in theDeadpool & Wolverinecostumes. The Deadpool actor channeled the fourth-wall-breaking persona of the character and was really the‘Merc with a Mouth’with his dark humor.

However, one such joke did not impress fans due to the tragic nature of the situation. During a conversation between Deadpool and Wolverine, the actor in the red & black costume shared (via DiscussingFilm | X):
Cinderpool was late because he had to read every single page in the terms and conditions when he signed up for Disney+.
The fans attending laughed at the joke, while the actor in Wolverine costume shared,“I don’t get it.”Deadpool actor replied,“They do.”The joke was clearly aimed at the recent tragic incident of the woman who lost her life at Disneyland. Fans were not at all happy after one X user shared the news and pointed out that they were making the joke at the expense of her husband’s loss.

One fan defended the joke sharing that the Deadpool actor was supposedly bashing Disney for the bizarre terms and conditions. However, other fans shared that it could’ve been a Disney-approved stunt as part of improving their reputation. Another fan pointed out that it was dark as hell since it was a Disney employee making the joke to Disney customers. Some of the fan reactions read:
I think you’re making the joke about the wife that died but in actuality they’re making fun of how dumb the Disney plus terms & conditions are to begin with & how ridiculous it is now that it’s brought to light.

People act like this is Deadpool himself taking the piss on Disney. But this is a Disney employee talking to Disney customers. It’s dark as hell

Jeff Piccolo, the husband of the deceased woman, included The Walt Disney Company in the lawsuit along with Great Irish Pubs Florida, Inc., who owned the property (via IndieWire). According to the lawsuit, Piccolo and his wife were aware of her food allergies but were“assured”by the restaurant that the food was“allergen free”.
Disney’s Bizarre Clause Faced Significant Backlash
The medical examiner’s report on Kanokporn Tangsuan’s cause of death read,“anaphylaxis due to elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system.”Piccolo filed a wrongful death suit and sought damages from the defendants“in excess of $50,000”. However, Disney claimed that they shouldn’t be included in the suit since they neither owned nor operated the restaurant.

It caused asevere backlash against the companyand resulted in the company withdrawing the motion. Disney’s Josh D’Amaro shared withBBC,“We believe this situation warrants a sensitive approach to expedite a resolution for the family who have experienced such a painful loss.”
The company has waived its right to arbitration and the matter will now proceed for a trial by jury.
