Reservoir Dogs(1992) [Credit: Miramax]In the years that followed, fan factions have taken it upon themselves to conduct some research into the past to dig out some strange truth. These amateur sleuths may not have found what they desired, but the industry still has a few tricks up its sleeve. As such, it has been revealed how Harvey Weinstein tried to fool even Quentin Tarantino once with his silver-tongued manipulation.
Harvey Weinstein Tried to Fool Quentin Tarantino Once
Quentin Tarantino, the biggest asset in Harvey Weinstein’s treasury, made his Hollywood debut withReservoir Dogsin 1992. The neo-noir crime caper defined the start of an era that displayed brilliant dialogue in films mixed with brash and gratuitous violence and an unlimited wealth of pop culture references – all of which are facets of a Tarantino movie.

AfterReservoir Dog’s premiere at Sundance, the Weinstein production company, Miramax, quickly picked up the film, but the bid came with a few conditions from the boss himself.

In an interview on theJoeRoganExperiencepodcast, Quentin Tarantino revealed Harvey Weinstein’s unthinkable demand that would have ruined a key scene in Tarantino’s film:
Look, Quentin, this is a movie that anybody can watch. But with that torture scene, you’re gonna alienate women; they’re not gonna wanna see this. So you’re literally putting your own movie in a little box. But without that scene, anybody can go and see this movie and everybody will enjoy it.

Secondly, the women, who Weinstein so desperately wanted to protect from the film’s unusually violent scene, quickly came to revere the filmmaker for his brilliant artistic vision that can only be found in a true, rare, and gifted cinephile.
