Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn‘s recent release on PC and Xbox Game Pass has been mixed, with awkward gameplay, bugs, and an overall unpolished feel being cited as reasons.
Recently, a player came across a bug that can’t just be brushed under the rug as something minor. The frustration it elicited was so large, that they immediately uninstalled the game, and we can’t blame them for it either.

Imagine spending hours, shedding blood, sweat, and tears to beat a difficult Soulslikewhose combat isn’t even optimal for the genre it’s in. It’s not an easy affair, but players have been doing it anyway.
One particularly unlucky player, however, accidentally locked themselves into a completely game-breaking bug that has rendered all their hard work pointless.
In a recent Reddit post, they show a clip of the issue, and it’s pretty self-explanatory.
In the video, they teleport to somewhere on the map and immediately start falling into the void after they load in.

When this usually happens in games, players will eventually hit the bottom or fall so far that the game will consider them ‘dead’ and respawn them.
Flintlockbugs are built different, though, as OP explains this isn’t the case.
At this point, they had finished the whole game, sat through the credits, reloaded their game, and attempted to teleport to a checkpoint. Their character began falling through the map, and even after leaving it alone for a while, it continued.
After reaching the bottom, the character supposedly teleported back to the top while still being under the map, and started falling again. OP wasn’t able to teleport either, so their game essentially was soft-locked.
Everything might not be over for OP, though.
This Critical Issue Must Be Fixed ASAP
A while after OP posted, Reddit user u/PixelBandits responded with a hopeful message.
While they can’t fix the issue directly, they promised to pass the message on to the developers who will hopefully get to fixing the issue as soon as possible.
With how majorly game-breaking this is, it would be a problem if more people continued to experience it.

They also expressed sympathy toward OP’s plight and said they understood why they would have deleted the game immediately after.
Thankfully, OP hasn’t completely written the game off yet. They explain that they’d finished the entire game and gone back to do some side quests, upgrade their weapons, and obtain all skills.
They genuinely enjoyed the game and would still recommend it to people, and are willing to go back to it and get all the achievements. If OP’s file can be saved, there’s hope for other players in similar predicaments.
