During today’sNintendo Direct Mini(July 12, 2025), the May 29 release date was finally confirmed. TheXenoblade Chronicles Definitive Editionis a modern remake of the Nintendo Wii JRPG that features enhanced graphics and performance. Additionally, some of the music has been rerecorded to improve some of the quality of the game’s music tracks.

It was also announced a new epilogue calledXenoblade Chronicles Future Connectedwill bring a new story and end the main game. This will give both newcomers andXenobladefans something new to look forward to. How it will tie up the main game is unknown, but you will play as Shulk, the main protagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles.

TheXenoblade Chronicles Definitive Editionlaunch date has been rumored since the beginning of the year. Back inJanuary, a Danish site called Cool Shop listed the May 29 date. Just a week after that, a Swedish site also shared the same date. InFebruary, the RPG got its classification in Korea, potentially hinting at an announcement.

As mentioned,Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Editionwill launch on May 29 for the Nintendo Switch. It originally launched back in 2012 for the Wii. A 3DS port was also released back in 2015. So, if you really want to playXenoblade Chroniclesnow, the Wii and 3DS versions are currently available.
