These new quests come in the form of a brand-new Gauntlet mode. This mode contains new rules, mechanics, and rewards. The lower-difficulty options can be fairly easy, but only the most dedicated players will be able to overcome the hardest challenge.
How To Unlock The Gauntlet
The Gauntlet can be played by players who own the DLC pass and have partially completed chapter 3 of the main storyline. Players will need to go to thein-game DLC pagein the menu to unlock the new content quests for the portal to the land of a challenge to spawn.
The portal spawns next toLlyn Nyddwr Campnear the center of theFornisregion. The easiest way to get there is by running south from Colony 4. It is next to one of the smaller lakes.

Gauntlet Rules
The Gauntlet consists of multiple waves of enemies. The player will gain access to a shop after each wave. The first few shops will contain free rewards, but players will need to spend points gained from killing enemies to get rewards thereafter. The shop includes allies, useful stat upgrades calledEmblems, and Nopwatch Refills. The Nopwatch is a bar in the top right of the screen that slowly drains as time passes.
If it reaches 0, then your team will receive severely negative debuffs. It’s good to buyNopwatch Refillswhen it’s low, but be careful not to buy too early since the price goes up each time. Ouroboros forms aren’t possible in the Gauntlet due to the player only controlling a single character. Replacing it is a new Launch Art. This will inflict Launch on all nearby enemies and lets the player get extra points for attacking them in the following seconds.

Team Building
Since only one character can be controlled, you’ll want to use whatever class you’re most confident in using. You can recruit multiple Hero allies but can’t switch characters in this mode. You arelimited to a party of 7 at max, so make sure to only buy Heroes that are very useful to the kind of setup you are going for.
Some upgrades only work on specific class roles or characters from a certain nation. It is a good idea to collect Heroes from the same nation to get maximum benefits. Here is a table of some of the most consistently helpful Heroes in this mode. attempt to unlock a good healer early on, and then focus on the other roles.

Rewards & Stat Upgrades
Getting an A rank in a Gauntlet will give two party members a costume based on a character from a past Xenoblade game. A pallet-swapped version of the outfits can also be bought from one of theNopon shops.
you may also buy permanent upgrades that can help you in the Gauntlet. This includes unlocking new shop Emblems and making the Emblem stat boosts more potent. Upgrading these will greatly improve your chances of completing the harder Gauntlets.
