This article contains spoilers forX-Men ’97

It is safe to say that Cyclops has personally been through a lot inX-Men ’97so far. From losing the leadership of the X-Men to none other than Magneto, finding out that the mother of his child was the plot of a clon-swap conspiracy, and loading his child the day after he is born to the future, Scott Summers is just not having a good time at all.
It must also be noted, that following the attack on Genosha, Scott Summers witnessed one of the most harrowing attacks on a mutant population, but also lost the mother of his child. That, only rounds up what the characters know has happened to him, completely in the dark about the fact that Jean Grey, the actual Jean Grey, kissed Logan and decided to hide it. All this has taken quite a toll on Scott, drastically changing the way he looks at humanity, as seen in the most recent episode ofX-Men ’97

Scott Summers might finally turn his back on humanity inX-Men ’97
Cyclops has been one of the most important characters in X-Men, being Professor Charles Xavier’s prized pupil who was a little too by the books. He is the X-Men equivalent to Captain America, the poster child of what Xavier’s Institute wishes to turn young troubled youths into.
However, given theamount of tragedy and strugglethat Scott has faced in the past few episodes, and the notable anger that has been rising in the character against humanity, has led many to theorize that Scott Summers might be inching towards becoming the mutant revolutionary, as he has multiple times in the comics.

A mutant revolutionary Scott Summers leaves behind Wolverine to run to the X-Men and Institute, which Logan is not able to handle as well. However, that does not stop from Scott taking it upon himself to fight for mutants more than he fights for humans, something that comes to head multiple times as he fights for young mutants in trouble, in a similar way to Magneto.
The development could see Cyclops be at odds with other heroes
As Scott Summers begins to put more attention towards mutant kind, the hero could find himself at odds with non-mutant heroes. While Scott might not go out of his way to harm human beings, ti must be noted that the character has been increasingly developing a lot of anti-human sentiment, which might cause him to put human lives in danger, or value them less than mutants.
This could pit him against the likes of Captain America and other Avengers, like Captain Marvel, who might just go to war with Cyclops and whatever mutants try to join him in his cause. This could directly lead to a situation that might be reminiscent ofAvengers vs X-Men, where mutants begin lobbying for more rights for their peers, as opposed to being prosecuted by human beings.
