One of your main priorities inDune: Awakeningis the accumulation of various resources in order to upgrade your equipment and base. As youprogress towards the mid-to-late game, the resources required to construct certain objects and materials will become increasingly rare.
Erythrite Cystals are one such resource, andyou will need them in abundance if you wish to manufacture Cobalt Paste—a critical construction material for many of the morepowerful items, such as Buggy and Cutteray components.

To craft Cobalt Paste, you’re going to need a Small Chemical Refinery, a good amount of water in storage and, of course, the Erythrite Crystals. Though there areseveral ways to go about collecting and storing water, the Erythrite Crystals will be slightly harder to come by.
Where To Find Erythrite Crystals
The most common place to find Erythrite Crystals is deep inside the Hagga Riftin the northern region of the map. The rift itself is much deeper than it first appears and stretches down for several hundred meters. If you get lost and can’t find your way, simply head in a westward direction, and eventually you will make your way out towards the Pinnacle Station outpost.
Down in the depths of the rift, you’ll come across several bandit camps and larger CHOAM facilities.The CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facilities are the most reliable place to source and harvest Erythrite Crystals.
The crystals themselves emit a bright red glow, so they should be quite easy to spot in these darker surroundings. Just be warned, many of the CHOAM outposts are guarded by snipers, so you won’t get your crystals free of trouble in every instance.
Additionally, smaller deposits of Erythrite Cystals can occasionally be found as loot in chests at bandit camps in the Rift, or on the bodies of enemies you defeat within the area.
How To Mine Erythrite Crystals
Don’t be intimidated by their devilish red glow,Erthrite Crystals can be harvested with as much as a simple Cutteray Mk2. Simply scan the ore and cut the glowing blue line in the usual way, and you’ll quickly fill your inventory withplenty of this valuable resource.
The main challenge is getting in and out of the Hagga Rift, soI’d definitely recommend using a vehicle such as the Sandbike or Buggy for this task.
Given how long it can take to make a mining trip down the rift, it is also a good idea to ensure that any vehicle you do take has an inventory upgrade applied to it. This way, you can maximize your Erythrite Crystal haul and craft far more components before having to return.
One way to make the trip even easier and more efficient is the application of upgrades such as the Buggy Cutteray. This way, you may trawl the Rift and quickly mine large amounts of Crystals, as well as other mineral deposits,without putting yourself in quite as much danger.
