The Flashstarted strong with a massive fanbase rooting for the Scarlet Speedster in the CW show. After being introduced as Barry Allen inArrow, Grant Gustin became a household name for his contribution to DC’sArrowverse. However, it did not take long beforeThe Flashwent downhill and become a butt of a joke due to numerous reasons.

It has been more than a year since we finally saw Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster. But it seems like fans still cannot get over some of the most atrocious visuals from the show. Recently, as a clip fromThe Flash‘s Season 7 went viral, numerous fans claimed that the quality is comparable to the oldPower Rangersaction scenes.
The downfall of Grant Gustin’sThe Flashwill go down in history
From laughable CGI to disappointing storylines, many significant reasons contributed to the downfall ofThe Flash. AlthoughGrant Gustinbecame a fan-favorite version of the Fastest Man Alive, the quality of the show fell so bad, that most of the fandom still denies its existence beyond the first three seasons.
“I don’t want to waste my time”: The Flash Fans Would be Shattered, Grant Gustin Didn’t Even Want to Audition for Barry Allen
In a recentInstagram post, the fans got to see a clip fromThe Flash‘s Season 7 finale where the Flash family clashed against the Godspeed clones. It cannot be denied that the CW show did not get the desired budget to pull off incredible CGI shots. However, the fight sequence is staged so badly, that several fans stated that it is not even worthy to be compared toPower Rangers.

When the Arrowverse first kicked off, it garnered widespread praise and boasted a massive potential. Additionally, the failing DCEU also made everyone believe in the CW’s DC Universe. Sadly, as evident from the Instagram comments of the recent video, the fans can never forgive the atrocities committed by the series in its later seasons. Many people commented that the video perfectly summarizes why they had to drop the series.
‘When did the show became this bad’

‘This is exactly why I dropped the show’
‘Don’t do power rangers dirty like that’

‘The downfall of this show gotta be studied, it used to be so good’
It is both hilarious and sad that some viewers were even offended that the action scene was compared toPower Rangers. They admitted that even the old and weak CGI of the Hasbro franchise looked better than whatever the Flash family was doing to get theirAvengersmoment.

Can Grant Gustin ever return as the Fastest Man Alive?
Even after the atrocities committed byThe Flash, it cannot be denied that Grant Gustin took a commendable take on the superhero. It would also be a lie to deny that Gustin carried a massive part of the show on his shoulders when it fell hard. With none of the OG Justice League set to reprise their roles inJames Gunn‘s new DCU, many fans want Gustin to be the next big-screen Flash.
“He’s not quite right for Barry, but…”: DC Star Who Played World’s First Openly Gay Supervillain in Arrowverse Nearly Replaced Grant Gustin as The Flash
Earlier this year, the 34-year-old actor also stated (viaComicbook) that he is willing to be the Scarlet Speedster again if James Gunn wants him to.
Yeah, if James Gunn asked me to play The Flash, I would do it again. I trust James Gunn.

On the other hand, Gunn has also spoken positively about the actor and has expressed his wish to work with him in the future. Speaking withThe Wrap, theGleeactor added that recently he also exchanged DMs about the upcomingSupermanbut did not have any conversation about Flash.
It is also very unlikely for Gunn to cast Gustin as Flash as he is trying to set up a fresh universe. It will be exciting to see if we can spot him in any other role in the DCU.
The Flashcan be streamed on Netflix.
