The news is great to hear; the first game did amazing on Steam, with a February 2023 sales presentation leak showing that it sold 2.5 million units on the platform.

The same year the port was released, the series’ sequel dropped on the PlayStation 5, and many had assumed it would sooner or later be ported as well.

There’s no problem with the sequel being ported, of course, but many are wondering why PlayStation’s parent company refuses to acknowledge the existence of arguably one of the best PS4 exclusives,Bloodborne.

Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely that the FromSoftware title will ever see the light of day on a desktop unless it has a PlayStation 5 port first (which isn’t looking too likely in the first place). It could be released as a PS6 launch title, more than anything.
With rumors of a movie based on the game swirling around, it might be that a remaster will be announced around the movie’s release. This is just speculation and not a guarantee.
There’s More PlayStation Exclusives That We’re Still Waiting For
According to some Reddit sleuths, the only PlayStation 5 titles aside from Ragnarok that are still waiting for a port areDemon’s Souls,The Last of Us 2, andGran Turismo 7.
Some speculate thatThe Last of Us 2will be released closer to the release of the TV show’s second season.
Bloodborne Movie Reportedly Casting Bill Skarsgård as Lead Commits the Same Mistake as Michael Fassbender’s Assassin’s Creed
Regarding aBloodborneport, while some people have accepted that it probably won’t be happening any time soon, there’s concern over the other PlayStation-exclusive FromSoftware game that hasn’t had any news yet—Demon’s Souls.
TheDemon’s Souls Remakewas developed in collaboration with Bluepoint Games and PlayStation’s now-defunct Japan Studio.
No one’s sure what the legal situation looks like between the involved companies, but many suspect that this is why there’s not been any news of a desktop port yet.
What makes the situation even more weird, is that the infamous 2021 Nvidia GeForce Leak, which has been mostly accurate so far, had mentions ofDemon’s Souls. Yet, there’s still no mention of it.
What do you think is holding up the ports for these FromSoftware titles? Let us know in the comments below!
