As part of the newFortniteChapter 3 Season 2 Week 3 quests, players have been tasked with using Ascenders at both Chonker’s Speedway and Command Cavern.
Ascenders were one of the many new features to be added into the game when Chapter 3 Season 2 kicked off last month, but you may not have even noticed them. If you need to get caught up with everything to do with Ascenders, you’ve come to the right place.

What Is An Ascender In Fortnite?
An Ascender is a vertical zipline that can be used to get on top of large cliffs or even IO blimps that are around the map. Whilst using them, similar to standard ziplines, players won’t take any fall damage should they jump off midway through the ascend.
Where To Find An Ascender In Fortnite
To complete the new Week 3 challenge, players will need to use an Ascender at both Command Cavern and Chonker’s Speedway.
We’ve circled both of the locations of the Ascenders on the map below. Chonker’s Speedway can be found at the most south point of the island, whilst Command Cavern can be located in the snow section of the map towards the northeast.
The Ascender at Command Cavern will take you up to the IO Blimp, whilst the one at Chonker’s Speedway will take you to the top of a cliff.
How To Use An Ascender In Fortnite
Using an Ascender is simple, players must walk up to the vertical zipline and press the ‘interact’ button, this is usually ‘E’ on PC, ‘Square’ on PlayStation, and ‘X’ on Xbox controllers. However, the interact button can be remapped, so you may need to check your controller settings.
