In an interview with a Korean digital magazine, Kim shared insights into what players can expect post-launch, including additional costumes and the much-anticipated New Game+ mode, all as free updates.
Stellar Blade’s Director Says No to Most Microtransactions
One thing that Kim emphasized during theinterview with Ruliwebwas the team’s commitment to keepingStellar Bladefree from the scourge of microtransactions. He stated:
We want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of beyond what they paid for the package.

However, he did mention one exception: collaborations with other companies’ IPs, which may result in paid costume DLCs.
Kim assured players that even after the game’s release, the team would continue to work on balancing patches to address any issues and enhance the overall gameplay experience. For hardcore players, a New Game+ mode will be added in the final release.

Regarding the release of a trial, the director expressed his reason for going this route:
It was my will to distribute the trial version. Since domestic console titles are so rare, we thought it was our task to provide a trial version that was linked to the main game.

Kim emphasized the significance of playing the game firsthand, explaining, “No matter how much you watch the video about an action game, you may’t know everything about it unless you play it yourself.” He acknowledged that while the trial version doesn’t cover every aspect ofStellar Blade, it’s a glimpse into the game’s potential.
He also spoke about some critical gameplay mechanics and how they work:

For example, you can equip up to 4 gears in total, and if you put them in with a focus on speed, combos that would normally be impossible can be connected quickly.
