Without a doubt,The Legend of Zeldavideo game franchise is one of the most popular and oldest action-adventure game franchises in the gaming industry. In recent years, we’ve seen various video game franchises getting live-action adaptations in the form of movies or TV shows.The Legend of Zeldawill get a similar treatment as director Wes Ball is currently working on a live-action film based on the franchise.

Last year, it was reported that Nintendo was developing a live-action Legend of Zelda film with Sony Pictures, and shortly after that Ball was revealed to be attached to the project.

The expectations are quite high, particularly because one of the video game series’ original creators, Shigeru Miyamoto, will oversee the project as one of the producers. Ball recently gave fans an update on the movie, leaving the fandom wild.

In a recent interview withPolygon, directorWes Balltalked about his upcomingThe Legend of Zeldamovie. Ball gave fans an update on the movie, adding that he isn’t allowed to reveal much,

“We’re working hard, and we’re gonna make something great – Nintendo will pop out of the bushes here and like yank me away.”

Ball also explained that the decision to make the movie entirely motion-captured was not his decision, but rather something that had to be done to keep the movie “grounded” and “real.”

Not much is known about the upcomingThe Legend of Zeldamovie at the moment but it’s safe to say that it is not coming out any time soon. In November 2023, Deadline confirmed that a live-actionThe Legend of Zeldamovie is in the works with Wes Ball as the director andfinancing from Nintendo. With a screenplay by Derek Connolly,The Legend of Zeldamovie was only greenlit because of the success ofThe Super Mario Bros. Movie(2023).
