Two and a Half Menbrought several romantic storylines to the forefront, all thanks to Charlie Harper. However, something different occurred in the fifth season of the sitcom when the showrunners introduced actress Ming-Na Wen as Judge Linda Harris.

From the very beginning, it was evident that Harris was not interested in Sheen’s character due to his immature behavior. While the duo did eventually start dating, some Reddit users believe that the judge was way out of Charlie’s league.
Fans React to Judge Linda Harris and Charlie Harper’s Brief Romance onTwo and a Half Men
Charlie Sheen‘s character onTwo and a Half Menwas a jack of all trades. He was a successful jingle writer in Malibu and was also quite popular among the ladies. All in all, Charlie Harper had everything, without any hint of rejection in his way. But everything changed when the showrunners introduced a new romantic interest in his life, who was just not that interested in him initially.
The character in question was Judge Linda Harris, played by the talentedMing-Na Wen. Interestingly, her appearance also marked a huge change in Charlie’s dating habits. Before her, he used to only date girls much younger than him, and Harris, on the other hand, was close to Charlie’s age.

This was the main reason why, initially, when Alan raised the subject of double dating,Charlieturned him down. But eventually, he got on board with the plan and met her. The judge was obviously not interested in Charlie, which made him obsessed with winning her over. He even went so far as to deliberately get arrested for drunk driving so that he could meet her in the courtroom.
This worked in his favor, as she agreed to go out with him. The same episode resurfaced on Reddit, and even fans agree that Linda waswayout of Charlie’s league.

While the duo looked promising at the start, their relationship came crashing down after only three episodes. But one major thing happened to Charlie during his relationship with Harris. After her ex-husband hears him singing a song to their son, he offers Charlie a gig to write children’s songs.

That’s how his iconic Charlie Waffles comes into the picture, also fulfilling his dream of picking up single moms through this. This episode was also particularly hilarious given how jealous Alan was due to Charlie’s success.
What Went Wrong With Linda and Charlie?
Linda was very different from the girls he was used to dating. She was intelligent, accomplished, and a devoted mother. More than that, she brought out a side of Charlie that viewers rarely saw on the sitcom. For instance, when he babysits her four-year-old son and sings him a silly song, this brings out a gentler side of Charlie.
But their relationship isn’t without its cons, evident from the fact that when she gets invited to an award ceremony, she deliberately hides the truth from Charlie. This indicates that, even though she had grown to like him, she still had doubts about how people would judge her if she were spotted with him. This upsets Charlie a lot, and after she eventually invites him to the ceremony, what happens there could easily be her worst nightmare.

After her invite,Charliegets so nervous that he takes a pill to calm down, but due to a mix-up, he gets high. He then embarrasses her in front of all the esteemed guests to the extent that a picture of Charlie licking Linda’s face gets published in the newspaper. This is when she breaks up with him.

While the duo did seem promising, both had their reservations about each other. Even though Linda agreed to date him, she still viewed him as someone bound to mess things up given his immature antics. On the other hand, given Linda’s status as a judge, Charlie felt a bit intimidated at times, especially when he started popping pills before the awards.
Ending their storyline on a brief note also makes sense given that Charlie’s womanizing ways were a major part of the plot.
