Very few actors get the opportunity to be a part of several critically acclaimed movies in their career, but there is one actress who can boast about this. Cate Blanchett has established herself as an icon in the industry, with a career spanning decades and several awards under her belt.

The actress has been a part of some of the most successful movies and has showcased brilliant performances. Yet, there is one movie that she finds hard to talk about, as theBorderlandsactress didn’t agree with the reception that this 2022 film received.
The music that still hurts:Tárat the Oscars
Táris a 2022 psychological drama film directed by Todd Field. It was centered aroundCate Blanchettin the role of Lydia Tár, a genius classical music conductor, and her eventual downfall. The movie dealt with several mature and complex themes, and the critics thought that Blanchett’s performance was raw and genuine.

It connected with me so, so deeply that I didn’t want to become too conscious of it.
The movie featured several emotionally scarring scenes, the character being accused, and threatened, her career being on the line, etc. Everything felt very heavy for the actress who felt the film required viewers to self-introspect. Initially, the film received positive reviews, with critics praising the lead’s acting, elements of surrealism, and the screenplay.

Unfortunately at the 95thAcademy Awards, though it was nominated in six categories including Best Picture, it did not win any accolades. This was shocking for the actors and fans since the film previously received various other awards.
A tough competition:Tárwas lost in the crowd
It’s not unknown to anyone that 2023 was a crazy year, especially for movies. Several fan-favorite movies were released in 2022, which made the competition tough.
