Some fans argued that it should’ve been part of the movie, considering its potential implications for Tom Holland’s upcomingSpider-Man 4. Others felt that it was right on the part of the makers to remove it, explaining that Marvel might not go in the same direction when exploring the In Between Universes.

Tom Hardy‘sVenom: The Last Danceperformed worse than its predecessors but still became a success at the box office. Sony Reportedly ‘Fiercely’ Defending Tom Hardy’s $1.8b Venom Trilogy Despite the Last Dance Cracking a Horrendous Box Office Record

In a recently-releaseddeleted scenefrom the film, Hardy’s scene fromSpider-Man 3is properly explained. When Doctor Strange casts the spell, Eddie gets transported from Earth-616 into a space called“In Between Universes”which happens to be the title of the deleted video. It is a void space between alternate realities and a shadowy figure can be seen observing Eddie from afar.

It could be a Xenophage who spotted them, revealing how Knull knew of Eddie and Venom’s existence. It also reveals that the King in Black resides in this void and is a real threat to the Multiverse, who canmake an appearance inSpider-Man 4as the main antagonist. Theories also suggest that Holland’s Spider-Man would die and be resurrected by the symbiote, creating another Codex.

However, there are fans who argue that In Between Universes will go against what Marvel has planned for their Multiversal films,Avengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Wars(via @AlexFromCC/X). Despite the scene explaining Knull as a potential Spider-Man villain, Marvel is unlikely to compromise their whole multiversal plans for this one villain.

Who is Knull and what’s in the Marvel future for him?

In Marvel Comics, Knull is the god of darkness who created the symbiotes. He existed in the primordial void between the Sixth and Seventh Cosmoses until he was awakened by the Celestials invading his kingdom of darkness. According to the lore, Knull created the symbiotes to wage war against the Celestials who brought light into his kingdom of darkness.

A Dark Fact about the Tragic Downfall of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe Starts and Ends With Tom Hardy’s Venom

He is connected to the current Marvel Universe as he’s the creator of the Necrosword seen in the possession of Gorr the God-Butcher inThor 4. When he lost the sword and was stranded on a nameless planet, he experimented with his powers and created a Hive of parasitic creatures that he could control.

Knull forms a fleet of Symbiote Dragons, two of which arrive on Earth and have an encounter with Thor. The God of Thunder defeats them, resulting in Knull losing connection to all the symbiotes. The symbiotes eventually turn on Knull and trap him at the core of the throneworld.

Andy Serkis played Knull inVenom: The Last Dance. The last we saw him in the movie, he had declared that Earth-688 was no longer safe for him since Venom had fallen. He might be in search of a new Universe, probably Earth-616, which is also hinted by the symbiote left behind inSpider-Man: No Way Home.

Venom: The Last Danceis now available for streaming on AppleTV.
