While nothing was confirmed yet, this could be a hint that a console version ofDisney Twisted Wonderlandis in the works. If it really does happen, it’s highly likely to be on Switch. For years now, the portable and home console hybrid from Nintendo replaced the PlayStation Vita as the go-to platform for Otome games and Rhythm games.

At the end of the day, keep in mind this is all speculation, as Disney hasn’t made any official announcements yet. We’ll be sure to tell you as soon as we can if aTwisted Wonderlandconsole game does get announced in the following months.

What’sTwisted Wonderland? Franchise explained

If you’ve never heard aboutTwst, long story short it’s a franchise set in a school with Disney villains, but all turned into bishonens. With gender bending in effect for female villains. One of my personal favorites is Divus Crewel, one of the school’s teachers, based on Cruella fromOne Hundred and One Dalmatians:

TheTwisted Wonderlandfranchise is a media mix project, born of the cooperation between Disney Japan andSony Aniplex.Twisted Wonderlandmost notablyfeatures character designs and scenario by Yana Toboso, the mangaka ofKuroshitsuji (Black Butler).

ATwisted Wonderlandadventure game, (in the Japanese sense of the “Adventure” genre, so it’s similar to what English fandoms call visual novels) launched in March 2020. Only in Japan, with rhythm game and gacha elements.Disney Twisted Wonderlandhas been since then one of the most popular mobile games in Japan. Together withGenshin Impact,Ensemble Stars, andFGO.

Taking all of this into account, a console adaptation definitely doesn’t seem far fetched.Twisted Wonderlandhas a sizable fanbase outside Japan as well, despite the original game only being in Japanese. A console game would be the occasion for us to get a localization.
