It’s been a month sinceCall of Duty: Black Ops 6was released. Initially, the game got so much heat for its launch maps, inconsistent TTK/TTD, and its new movement mechanics. However, things got settled down a bit when players found out about the brilliant campaign missions of the recently launched title.

However, the purple patch didn’t last too long after players found out another strange aspect of the game, this time with the unusual damage distribution. It seems Treyarch’s plan to implement new measures out of the box, is literally backfiring at them.

There’s No Extra Benefits of Headshots inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6

Headshots in shooting games usually deal the most damage as compared to hitting in the other parts of the body. In some games likeValorant,PUBG,Battlefield, and many more, one tap on the head instantly kills the enemies. That is why players are always concerned about pointing their cursors at the opponents’ heads.

However,Black Ops 6is a bit different. In this game, headshots just deal damage of 25, whereas hitting any other part of the body deals 23 on specific weapons. So, headshots in this game don’t make a huge difference. However, a fan has stated a possible reason why the developers didn’t add significant differences in headshots as compared to other parts.

Now this new damage method might benefit the newbies but will be a huge headache to the pro players. As there are no subsequent advantages to hitting a headshot, this clearly explains the reason forthe game’s inconsistent TTK/TTD.

What Is the Reason Behind This Symmetrical Damage Distribution?

In order to avoid a“get shot first, kill first”situation, the developers said didn’t want to recreate the headshot problems from earlierCODs, in which you could be shot and the flinch would kick you up the head to get a quicker kill.

This is why, even with the CHF barrel, it nearly always takes two or more headshots to lower your TTK. Theoretically, this is an innovative attempt to make headshots feasible while still necessitating greater skill to manage the quicker TTK.

But in reality, their attempt seems a little strange. A very complicated method of rendering headshots useless for the great majority of players and the gunfights they engage in is to require an attachment with significant drawbacks when the majority of attachments have no penalties to make you slightly better in some situations that also require more skill to execute.

Then, to complete the camouflage challenges, they made all firearms—including the ohk weapons, such as shotguns and snipers—require headshots. It’s similar toBO4, but at least in that game, being of a high caliber didn’t have any consequences.
