Earlier this year, a report from Deadline stated that New Line Cinema would release a remake of the South Korean zombie thriller,Train to Busan. As expected, fans familiar with the original movie aren’t happy with the news.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the originalTrain to Busanfilm was premiered at the Cannes Film festival in 2016. The movie revolves around Seok-woo and his daughter Su-an. They get stuck in a high-speed train from Seoul to Busan in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
Train to Busanbroke all records in South Korea, and it also became an international hit. Several critics appreciated the movie for its fast-paced story and well-written characters. Some even went on to say that it’s the best zombie movie ever made.

According toDeadline, Timo Tjahjanto is already in talks to direct the remake. The Indonesian filmmaker is well-known for directingThe Night Comes For Us,Headshot,May The Devil Take You, and its sequel,May The Devil Take You Too.
New Line Cinema, which is a part of WarnerMedia, will release the film; however, there isn’t any official release date.
James Wan, Michael Clear, Nicolas Atlan, and Terry Kalagian are coming together to produce the remake. Whereas Gary Dauberman, the American screenwriter known for writing several Conjuring Universe movies, will work onTrain to BusanRemake’s screenplay.
Of course, everyone working on the remake is great; however, when the original movie in itself is a masterpiece, fans wonder why there is a need for a remake. So, it’s no surprise that several fans went to Twitter to express their disappointment following the announcement.
