Yesterday, Creative Assembly and Sega announced the next title in theTotal War: Warhammerseries,Total War: Warhammer 3.Total War: Warhammer 3and it’s predecessors are a range of fantasy-driven, real-time strategy games, based around theWarhammertabletop wargame. The games pit a bunch of factions against each other in a battle for supremacy and this one looks no different, with a total of six confirmed. Who are theTotal War: Warhammer 3Factions though? Let’s take a look.
What are the Total War: Warhammer 3 Factions?
So far, Creative Assembly and Sega have confirmed there will be six factions in the game. There are four Chaos factions using the armies of Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Tzeentch as well as two human ones focused on Cathay and Kislev.
Who are they though?
Khorne, for the uninitiated, is also known as Blood God and the Lord of Skulls. It lives for brutality and thrives off of hate, anger, rage, war and killing. Anybody who follows this God is likely to be either an “honourable champion” or “blood-crazed slaughtered”.
Nurgleis also known as the Plague God and is the Chaos God of disease, decay, despair, death, destruction and all wonderful things of that ilk. Nurgle spreads plagues amongst the mortal world. His followers are a combination of people who want to cause unadulterated destruction as well as those who crave resilience.
Slaaneshhas a range of aliases. He’s been called the Dark Prince, the Prince of Pleasure, the Lord of Excess, the Perfect Prince, and the Prince of Chaos. Slaanesh appears androgynous, is the youngest of the Chaos Gods and is followed by those who are full of lust and pride.
Tzeentchis the Architect of Fate. He is the god of Fate, as well as plots and schemes. His sadistic tendencies mean he warps fate in a way that suits himself. He is likely to be followed by those who wish to change their own destinies, regardless of cost.
Cathayis also, most impressively, known as The Empire of the Celestial Dragon. It is a human nation, based in the Far East. They practice magic and have large, varied armies filled with a range of talented sorcerers and warriors.
Kislevis known as The Realm of the Ice Queen. It’s a war driven nation of humans, based in the frozen North. They are a race of tough, resilient warriors, known for their abilities on horseback and their determination.
When is the game releasing?
Total War: Warhammer 3doesn’t yet have a release date. It is tentatively scheduled for 2021, however, nothing has been confirmed yet. For those who are eager, the game can be pre-orderedon Steamor theEpic Games Storeright now.
