Movies shot using IMAX equipment have a much higher resolution, allowing viewers to see a detailed product on the silver screen. 5Dunkirk (2017)
Christopher Nolan definitely knows how to director and produce films that are guaranteed box office hits.Dunkirkis another movie that received a lot of praise from the public, grossing around an estimated $527 million (viaScreenrant).
This project was partially shot using IMAX cameras. According toThe Verge, around 70% of the film was shot using these cameras, meaning only a particular chunk of scenes were given priority to be shot with it. Nolan used the MAX MKIV and MSM 9802, which were equipped with Panavision Sphero 65 Primes and Hasselblad Primes.

This was another classic revitalized in 2019 by American filmmaker, John Favreau, who also happens to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.The Lion King(2019) was a live-action adaptation of the movies that were released during the 90s. It was a gift to all youngsters turned adults that year.
This movie was also shot using Alexa 65 IMAX equipped with Panavision Sphero 65 Primes. It was most certainly one of the best renditions of the original movie that came out in 1994. It grossed over a billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing musical of all time (via Collider).

9Dune: Part I

So far, we’ve mentioned two MCU movies that took the world by storm. However, its rival, the DC Extended Universe, also deserves some love.James Gunnis known for his excellent releases under DCEU, andThe Suicide Squadwas a movie filmed entirely using IMAX cameras.
This movie was entirely filmed using the Red Komodo IMAX, Ranger Monstro VV IMAX, Ranger VV IMAX, and Weapon VV IMAX equipped with Leica Thalia Primes and M 0.8 Spherical Primes. Sadly, this movie didn’t do as great as most other DC movies, as it only grossed $55.8 million (viaBox Office Mojo).
