10Lamar Down
Helping A Friend’s Friend
Lamar is a very important side character inGrand Theft Auto V. In the second mission, the game has you playing as Franklin to reclaim twocarsalongside Lamar. As such, you know this duo and their friendship goes way back.
While Franklin gets Michael as a mentor, Lamar has to do things by himself and has a habit of getting in trouble often. So when Stretch sets him up, Tanisha goes to Franklin to get him to save his friend’s life once again.

But as this is a major weed operation, he suspects there will be a lot of Ballas involved and asks Lester to get him some information. Additionally, he also tells him to get Michael and Trevor as backup because he will need their help to get Lamar out of this mess.
There are quite a handful of missions in this game where you get to control all three protagonists. Lamar Down just so happens to be one of the most fun non-heist ones.

The trio spread out to eliminate the Ballas from different areas. You switch between Franklin and Trevor for gunning down the enemies from up close. Meanwhile, Michael acts as the team’s sniper. The mission ends with Franklin driving Lamar back home.
9Fame Or Shame
Never Mess With A Girl’s Father And Uncle
This is a rather interesting mission because it starts on a tense note. We see Michael arguing with his wife and son, only for Trevor to show up at his house like a ghost from his past. Only that Michael was the one who happened to have been resurrected.
But before things can get heated, the family finds out that Tracey has gone to perform for an audition for the talent show Fame or Shame.
To prevent Tracey from getting herself embarrassed live on television, Michael and Trevor head to the studio. There, the duo find that Lazlow is getting a little too comfortable with her dance performance.

Building something pretty next to your friend’s dirt hut has never been easier than with these games.
Things go south when Michael pushes Lazlow down and Trevor hits the security with a chair. Lazlow is now on a run for his life but the duo end up cornering him.
But it ends well with Trevor making Lazlow do a humiliating dance while recording it and Michael chasing him away.
8Crystal Maze
This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us
Possibly one of the best missions in the game. Crystal Maze has Trevor “taking care” of the competitors who are stealing his business.
It starts with Trevor’s conversation with Tao Cheng and his translator not going well as they want to explore other options. After getting the translator to spell out who these competitors are, he calls Elwood O’Neil to tell him he is coming for him and his brothers.
After you reach the farm, you have to snipe the guards so that you may enter the house. Once inside, you have to kill all the O’Neil brothers, go to the basement in the lab, and start pouring gasoline trail outside.
Now, all that is left is to shoot the trail and watch your competition go out in flames.
7The Jewel Store Job
A Heist To Remember
Speaking of the best missions, let us talk about The Jewel Store Job. This is one of the first missions in the game where you have two ways to approach it.
After Michael catches his wife with the tennis coach, he mistakenly ends up destroying Martin Madrazo’s house. Which puts him in a debt of a whopping 2.5 million dollars. And the only way he knows how to make money is by doing heists.
A few missions later it is decided the best way to settle things is by looting Vangelico, a luxury jewelry store. The thing that really makes this mission interesting is there are two ways to do it.
You could either take the Smart Approach where you pose as Bugstars, a fumigation company. In this approach, you use sleeping gas to knock out the staff. Or you could take the Loud Approach and steal a tactical team truck from the LSPD.
No matter which approach you take in your first playthrough, it is highly recommended that you also try the other way out, because this mission is just that good!
6Friend Request
You Scratch My Back And I’ll Scratch Yours
With all the intense car chases, action-packed gun fights, and hiding from the police to lose your wanted level, there will be moments when you want to experience a mission that is on a “lighter” and more fun side.
If you do like such missions, then Friend Request fits the criteria just right.
to settle his 2.5 million dollar debt, the only friend who can help Michael out is Lester. But as there is something that Lester needs to get done first, Michael has to help him out before getting any help from him.

What Lester wants is payback from Jay Norris and, to do that, Michael has to dress up as a Web Designer to fit in with the youth and get inside Lifeinvader to rig the prototype.
I won’t spoil the ending of this mission if you haven’t played the game, as you get to watch what happens to the rigged prototype with Michael on his TV.
5Reuniting the Family
Michael Gets His Family Back
A major portion ofGTA Vrevolves around Michael and his family falling apart. So, when you do the mission Reuniting the Family, it feels good to see things finally start to work out for him.
Michael gets woken up by Jimmy, who comes to apologize for spiking his drink, and how he and the rest of the family miss Michael and don’t want him to get himself killed.
Jimmy now takes Michael to Amanda, where he finds her with Fabian, the Yoga instructor. After Fabian annoys Amanda by crossing the line with his comments on her and her son, she asks Michael to hit him. They decide to sort things out at Dr. Friedlander’s office.
All that’s left is for Michael to pick up Tracey, who is at the tattoo parlor talking with Lazlow for another shot at Fame or Shame.
After Michael catches Lazlow trying to mess with his daughter, he teaches him a lesson for good and makes sure Tracey gets on the show. Now, the last thing this family needs is a counseling session.
While this mission isn’t action-heavy, it brings a nice and fitting closure to Michael’s dysfunctional family arc.
4Caida Libre
An Intense Plane Chase
This is one of the many missions where Michael and Trevor have to team up and work like the good old days. In Caida Libre, Martin Madrazo wants the duo to take care of his cousin, who wants to testify against Martin and has some “innocent files” on him.
To do this job, Michael has to take out the plane on which Javier is flying. You do that by going to the Galileo Observatory and using the heavy rifle attached to a van that Madrazo had left for Michael.
Shoot the plane thrice, and it will start falling, which starts the chase sequence and Trevor comes into play.
This is where things become really fun, as Trevor has to follow the crashing plane across the country. Once it finally does crash, he kills Javier and collects the files.
The mission seems to be over after Michael destroys the van and meets up with Trevor. But it only gets more interesting because Trevor has kidnapped Patricia and the duo now have to lie low while they discuss things with Madrazo.
3Three’s Company
The Whole Gang Is Back In Business
Three’s Company is the mission that showcases just what the game has in store for you when all three protagonists are involved. It is the first mission where Michael, Trevor, and Franklin have to work together to abduct Ferdinand Kerimov.
The FIB doesn’t want IAA to find out about their shady methods of doing things and wants Michael to kidnap Ferdinand before IAA can extract any information from him.
10 Best Linear Games That Feel Open World
Sometimes, the illusion of open-ended design is enough.
While Michael is initially hesitant, he is forced to do their bidding. As this isn’t a one-man job, he also ends up having to call in Franklin for help. Dave knew he wouldn’t want to work with Trevor, so he called him himself.
This mission is super fun as each of the characters has different roles to play. Trevor flies Michael to the IAA headquarters and has to take him back to the meeting point once the mission is over.
Michael does the heavy lifting by kidnapping Ferdinand and taking care of the pursuing IAA members and choppers. While Franklin’s role is to provide backup and snipe out any enemies trying to meddle in their business.
Where It All Began
There are some moments in gaming that are so iconic you can’t forget them. Be it something simple like theResident Evil 4merchant asking “What’re you buyin'”. Or the entire opening act ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2with both Spider-Men fighting the Sandman.
GTA V’s Prologue is one such memorable mission.
For a game calledGrand Theft Auto, it is only fitting that the first mission is a heist. Going from threatening the hostages to stealing the bank, things seem to be working well for Michael and the squad.
But while the heist must have gone smoothly, that isn’t exactly the case with their escape. With the cops chasing the team, the mission ends with Trevor having to run away and Michael faking his death.
There are so many things to like about this mission. It creatively introduces two of the game’s protagonists; you get a taste of the gunplay and driving mechanics and also get chased by the police.
Finally, it ends with Michael visiting his funeral, which creates the question of why he faked his death.
1The Third Way (Ending C Deathwish)
The Only Right Ending
Finally, for the best story mission inGTA V,we have The Third Way, also known as Deathwish or Ending C.
While you do have Ending A, which has you killing Trevor, one ofgaming’s most hated protagonists, and Ending B, where you need to kill Michael, Franklin’s mentor, none of the other options feel right.
So, choose option C, and get ready for a thrilling ride as this is going to be one long mission.
The mission starts with Franklin calling Lester to tell him about the problem at hand and how he needs his help. This mission is also a sweet closure to Lamar’s story as he is more than happy to help Franklin as he is “actually doing something for his homies for a change”.
It starts with the trio setting up a trap at the Foundry where they ambush both the FIB and Merryweather. Once the mobs are taken care of, it is time to tie up the remaining loose ends, which means they have to get rid of Stretch, Wei Cheng, and Steve Haines for good.
Now, all that is left is to take down Devin Weston, who has been the source of all the problems in Michael, Trevor, and Franklin’s lives.
This mission is a perfect end to the game’s story as all the characters have taken care of their problems and now have a chance to finally live a somewhat normal life without having to do anyone’s bidding.
