There’s no denying that Marvel Studios has benefitted massively from theSpider-Manmovies. It’s probably the reason why since Sam Raimi took over the director’s seat and featured Tobey Maguire in the titular role, Sony and Marvel together pushed for sequels and spin-offs, one after another.

But ever since Tom Holland took over the mantle as the new Spider-Man following his appearance in theAvengersfilms, Marvel witnessed a massive surge in viewership. Further, Holland’s movies also bagged a staggering amount at the box office. This success, therefore pushed Marvel to make the most out of it, but the actor seems to be hesitant about a sequel after three installments.

Tom Holland is Hesitant About aSpider-ManSequel
Ever since the cinematic inception of Spider-Man, three different actors have played the titular role of Marvel’s web crawler. While all of them delivered prolific performances, somehowTom Holland’s recent installments ofSpider-Manturned into the most renowned and bankable films.
This led Marvel Studios to repeatedly develop back-to-back sequels of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Tom Holland is Fighting to Protect Spider-Man’s Legacy
Unwilling to ruin the image of Spider-Man with repeated and unnecessary sequels just to churn money out of it, Tom Holland noted his plans for his character’s future. Announcing that he has been actively engaging in conversations about the fourth rendition of his character, Holland claimed that he won’t make further movies just for the sake of making.
“All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing.”

Fighting to protect the legacy of his character, Tom Holland has been adamant about not developing further sequels without a proper storyline. Willing to keep the success of his films intact, Holland implied his desire to stop after three installments, if there is creative block, and lack of engaging plot.
“I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy… we won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.”
“If we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man. I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I’ll only tell it if we can find the right one.”
Sharing his valid reasons during the press conference viaEW, although Tom Holland disappointed fans with brutal honesty, the actor didn’t kill the hope for a fourth sequel.
