And that’s why, given the fact thatFinal Fantasy 16developers announced two DLCs for this blockbuster, no one was surprised. For those unaware, Square Enix announced expansions called “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide” for their game.
The first of these expansionsEchoes of the Fallen launched in Decemberlast year, and it brought a whole new location to its fans. It also gave them access to a brand-new quest, expanding the game’s story.

The Rising Tide is the second DLC, and it will be launching on June 02, 2025. This DLC would take players to another new location called Mysidia, which is being described as a hidden land under a blue sky. Besides this new location and quest, players would also unlock a new Leviathan Eikon of Water.
Besides this, they will also be fighting a massive new Leviathan battle in this upcoming DLC. As the pet game’s producer, Yoshi-P, this would be the last Eikon versus Eikon before the game’s final boss and would prove to be very challenging.

“Up until now, with the Eikon battles, we wanted to make them very unique but… accessible to the players as well. But this is the last Eikon versus Eikon battle before the final boss, so we wanted to make it something that was very, very challenging. It builds upon what you learned controlling Ifrit, and you’ll have to use everything you learned.”
This is very good to know, as fans would expect something like this for a DLC. After all, who does not play an RPG like this for a challenge? Over that, if this battle were hard, then it would also be epic, as hard Eikons usually have the best of powers.
