Falloutis returning for a second season and Walton Goggins can’t sing enough praises for the new season. According to Goggins, the first season of the show was extraordinary and he is sure that the second season is going to surpass the first. However, for Goggins’ big promise to shape into reality, Prime Video should avoid one mistake with the new season.

The series, based on the video game series of the same name, received great reviews from critics as well as audiences. However, the chatter about the series died down quickly. After the immense backlash over the wait forInvincibleepisodes, Prime Video went out of its way to adopt a binge model of release forFallout.
Walton Goggins’ grand promise aboutFallout Season 2
Walton Gogginsplayed Ghoul, the disfigured post-apocalyptic character in the first season ofFallout. He won over fans with his performance as the antagonist toElla Purnell‘s Lucy. The first season of the series was created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner.Jonathan Nolandirected three episodes and served as an executive producer.

A second season ofFalloutis currently in production and fans earlier learned that Macaulay Culkin had joined the series (via Deadline). It will be a while before fans can see the new season of the series. However, Goggins promised that the second season would be far more impressive than the critically acclaimed first season.
Speaking to Deadline during the red carpet premiere ofThe White Lotus Season 3, Goggins shared the update that they have been filming the series since November 2024. He shared that while the first season was extraordinary, the second season would exceed everyone’s expectations. Goggins shared withDeadline:

We’re in the middle of filming it right now, we’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought Season 1 was extraordinary, personally, I was very pleased with it. This blows it out of the water, what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story. It’s really gonna be something. I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.
While Goggins and the series have definitelyearned a place in the hearts of fans, the post-apocalyptic series has yet to perform up to its potential. The critical acclaim of the series meant that it should’ve been celebrated like other similar series, sayThe Last of Us. However, one poorly executed plan of Prime Video resulted in the series leaving not much of an impact.

Prime Video should avoid the binge-model release ofFalloutepisodes
When the first season ofFalloutpremiered on April 10, there was not much talk about the series despite its glowing reviews. Every cultural writer talked about the ‘amazing’ series and analyzed it in the first few days. Once they were done with the discussions, there wasabsolutely zero chatterthat could pull more audiences towards the series.

It wasn’t too difficult to identify where Prime Video made the mistake with the series. The streamer, usually known for their TV model release of episodes, opted for a binge model forFallout. All episodes were dropped at once and the show’s viewership and lack of discussions around it proved that this binge model had a detrimental impact on the show.
However, Prime Video wasn’t the only one to be blamed. They were forced to choose this Netflix model because many fans were constantly criticizing the weekly episode model. The streamer received severe backlash for the delay in releasingInvincibleepisodes. However, weekly episodes forFalloutwould’ve kept the discussions alive for weeks and maintained hype for the series.

Fans hope that when Prime Video decides to drop its second season, the streamer opts for a TV model of release.
