As the count-down to the holidays begins, Netflix has come in early with a present forWitcherfans. On the final day of Witchmas, we have been treated to a sneak-peak at the first page ofThe Witcherseason two script page. If you have read the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, specifically “A Grain of Truth” which is the third story inÂThe Last Wish, the script may just give away a hint on what’s to come in season two in Netflix’sThe Witcher. As many eagle-eyed Twitter users have pointed out, page one of the script bears an uncanny similarity to theWitchershort story, ‘A Grain of Truth’ where Geralt happens upon the corpses of a merchant and a woman. While retracing their steps to find out what happened to them, he meets a man in a monster’s mask named Nivellen. We already know that Nivellen has beencast in season 2and heâll be played by Kristofer Hivju, best known as Tormund Giantsbane fromGame of Thrones. As we can see from page one, thereâs a merchant on a cart with his daughter and wife when out of the shadows, something leaps out and kills him and his wife. The girl, now alone, jumps from the cart and runs toward a giant mansion on the hill overlooking the village.Ingrained through the script is Geralt’s voice-over dialog talking about something terrible he has witnessed. Finally, at the end of his voice-over, Geralt talks about that he was meant to be alone and suggests that whatever formidable entity heâs talking to might be something that even he is afraid of. The two stories are almost identical which gives us a good hint that the story might provide the inspiration for the first episode. If so, episode one of season two is most certainly in for a good start and I can’t wait to see how the entire season plays out.
