Netflix’sThe Witcherjust can’t seem to catch a break. After four confirmed positive results for COVID-19, production and filming at Arborfield Studios, which is west of London, forseason two was haltedyet again last month. With production resuming a few weeks ago, poor Henry Cavill ended up injuring himself between filming scenes. Although Cavill’s leg injury was a minor one, production had to be temporarily suspended while Cavill, who plays Geralt of Rivia, took some time to rest.
Cavill is said to be sidelined for a short period of time, with season two ofThe Witcherfilming around him. According toThe Sun, Cavill hurt his leg while on an assault course, working at a height of 20ft while wearing a safety harness. “The filming has been hit because of what happened to Henry. He was on an assault course and injured his leg,” a source said. “He just suddenly pulled up and was clearly in a lot of pain. It wasn’t clear if an object had hit his leg or it was some sort of hamstring or muscle injury.”
The source also states that Cavill’s injury “wasn’t bad enough to need an ambulance but it’s messed up the filming schedule as he can’t walk properly,” the source adds “He has to wear heavy armor in the scenes and he just wouldn’t be able to do it with his leg injury.” With the holiday period approaching, production will take a short break but we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that no more incidents happen on the set ofThe Witcherand we are able to watch with anticipation at who and what we will find next as the story continues. We already know that plenty ofnew faceswill be making an appearance and we’ll get to see Geralt of Rivia in somebrand new armor, too.
