The world ofThe Witcher 3is wild and wondrous, with so much content that you might miss half of what the path yields on your first run. But your journey is not set in stone—fate bends with choice, and a second run can offer you a different journey.

The quests you have completed may have layered lore, and the characters you have encountered can have shadier personalities, but you don’t have to ride the same trail as before.

Changing some stuff can make your second run twisted and tempting, from switching between how the White Wolf tackles the world to who you wanna spend the rest of your life with can shift the tale’s course.

The Witcher Franchise Has Surpassed 50 Million Units Sold

Wind’s howling.

I have done countless runs of The Witcher 3, only to realise that each run and each difference you make is somehow rewarded, either by hidden dialogue or by unique endings to different quests. It’s an incredible game that deserves a second playthrough.

9Roleplaying As Different Versions Of Geralt

Your Game, Your Choices

There are plenty of paths to walk in The Witcher 3, and you’re free to shape Geralt’s life as you wish; he can be a saint in the evil lands, or he canmake the “a witcher loves coin more than a life” stereotype true.

For your second run, change the dialogue options, and how you acted in your first run, save characters that got killed or kill the ones who survived, be more ruthless, and see how the story changes, revealing details you may have missed before.

Different version of Geralt

Despite endless runs, I always end up playing as thegood-guy Geralt asI just can’t bring myself to see him turn into a scumbag, but regardless there is a reward in every playstyle.

8Romantic Choices

A Man Of Love

Even an emotionless beast slayer like Geralt needs a pretty lass by his side. Although there are up to 7 romance options, only two are primary and stay with you for the rest of the game, so make your choice, it’s eitherYennefer or Triss.

For your second run, wander down the love’s path if you haven’t already—do their side quests, share a word with them, and see where that road ends up. The white one can even court both of them if he’s careful, but don’t count on it ending well. You might smirk, but Geralt definitely won’t.

Romance choice

You could also consider finding the secondary romance options scattered in the world of The Witcher, each bringing their unique challenges to face.

I don’t often do love quests in games, but The Witcher is different. The romantic quests add a unique charm and challenge to the game, and I love the ending with Yennifer on Skillige.

Mods

7Install Mods

Change The Game

The raw tale of The Witcher 3 is an experience on its own, but adding afew modscan really enhance your experience on the second run. These mods don’t have to be world-shifting, just something that can make a slight difference.

Like the Brothers In Arms mod, which fixes hundreds of bugs in the gameand restorescut content. It’s a good way to reignite your spark by watching some cutscenes and dialogue that were taken out due to pacing issues.

The Witcher 3 Realistic

The Witcher 3 Looks Unbelievably Realistic With Over 100 Mods

I wish I had a NASA PC!

Or the DLC Event Next-Gen, which adds a marker for events and quests that are hidden, can also help you if you have missed some quests or cutscenes in the first run. Other mods like HD texture mod, which enhances the game’s visuals, can also make the game look better and even feel better in some areas.

I love The Witcher 3 without mods, but adding a few cosmetic and texture mods really brings out the best from the game, making each run feel different.

6Play Without The Mini-Map Or HUD

Trust Your Instincts

The world of The Witcher 3 is immersive and huge, a land cursed with beauty that drags you back again and again.

I suggest disabling the HUD, Minimap, and the quest markers via settings or mods, making youlean on wit, old roads, and what your mind recallsin your second run to make it interesting.

I have stumbled upon untold tales scattered like old coins due to no Minimap directions, but that’s the charm of the game, and experiencing the world of Witcher on your own is something I wish I had done sooner.

5Choose A Different Ending For The Characters

Who Lives And Who Dies?

To get a new path in your second journey, a good way is to change the endings of quests and characters. The game has a beautiful way of testing your morals by making you control the fate of characters, who are twisted in one way or another.

Betray Dijsktra, or help him rule, save Keira, or send her to Radovid’s pit, let the bloody baron find redemption, or watch him hang, decide what future Ciri will have, or no future at all. Every path laid before you can impact the story. No choice is clean, and every road will leave a scar on Geralt and the realm around him.

I loved experiencing different endings of characters; some were sad, while others were fate-altering. I wish I were able to experience the Bloody Baron quest for the first time again, honestly, one of the best.

4Self-Imposed Challenges

Test Your Limits

Should you seek to test your mettle for the second run, why not impose a challenge on yourself? They can make your run fun or difficult, but definitely rewarding.

Bond a little more with Roach and try doing a No Fast Travel run, just enjoy the vast and dangerous world of The Witcher, or strip away the life bars of both hunter and prey to keep the tension sharp. you’re able to even forget using signs and simply test your might with the blade.

Better yet, why not do all of these in the same run? The satisfaction level after completing a challenge run will be sky high, believe me!

I have done a few challenge runs myself, and they are always fun. Exploring the world without fast travel has made my love for the Witcher map grow even stronger.

3Try A Different Combat Build

Pick Your Steel

The Witcher 3 has a wide variety ofarmor and weapons for every path, some shine bright, and others just get you by, but combining them can get you a build that can aid you in every fight.

Approach your new hunt with a different build. If you previously focused on an agility build, try going for a tank instead.

The Witcher 3: 10 Hardest Bosses, Ranked

The Witcher 3 is host to countless incredible boss fights. This list delves into the very best bosses present in the game.

you’re able to also go for an Alchemy or a sign-heavy build, each needing unique skills andmutagento craft. For those daring to push beyond, try going for a no-melee run, using only a crossbow.Changing your build will transform the combat and the entire playthrough by association.

I have tested many blades and crafts, but my favourite is to rock the Ursine Armor build, it helps you tank through every fight, and looks fit for a Witcher.

2Play And Collect Gwent Cards

Embrace Gwent

While playing The Witcher 3, you may have come across NPCs offering you to play Gwent, a simple minigame played with cards. If you totally ignored that part of the game, then you missed out on so much.

For your second run, make Geralt the greatest Gwent player on the Continent. There is an entire realm of the game dedicated to players who want tohunt cards, outplay rivals, and compete in tournaments. For someone who has already played the game once, Gwent offers new content and tests your strategies.

In my first few runs, I let Gwent slip past me, I just didn’t wanna bore myself, but after finally playing it, the tale alone no longer holds me.

1Playing On The Highest Difficulty

Ultimate WItcher

To truly feel everything the Witcher 3 has to offer in your second run,try completing the game on the Death March setting, the highest difficulty in the game, as it puts you on edge at every encounter, putting your skill and grit to the limit.

Your health won’t restore till the killing’s done, the opponent strikes harder, and your gear wears down faster. It’s no easy task, but once you master your blade, there is no turning back to easier foes.

One time, midway through the journey, I noticed I was dying a lot compared to my previous runs. Turns out the difficulty was set to max, but after endless reloads and fights, I stand firm in saying, I love Death March.
