Call of Duty Announces Crossover With The Walking Dead
Call of DutySeason 1 brought plenty of new content for players and Season 2 might be bringing some more with the upcomingThe Walking Deadcrossover. The crossover was announced by Activision on the officialCall of DutyX/Twitterhandle with a teaser trailer. The teaser is a recreation of the popular zombie apocalypse show’s opening title sequence.
The teaser seemingly features the Urzikstan map and shows the gritty visuals of the map with the iconic music ofThe Walking Dead. The fan-favorite characters from the series, Rick Grimes and Michonne also appear in the trailer, confirming that the popular characters will be available as playable operators in the game with Season 2 and also features Vladimir Makarov from the game.
This confirmation from Activision comes following multiple leaks and rumors suggesting thatCall of Dutywill be collaborating withThe Walking Deadand bringing Rick Grimes and Michonne as operators. Moreover, the addition of both Rick and Michonne could also mean that more characters from the series could be seen in the game as there is no lack of iconic characters, and if lucky, the players might even get to see Negan Smith or Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon.
The main reason behind Rick and Michonne coming to the game as part of the crossover could be the upcoming spin-offThe Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. The spin-off will follow Michonne on her journey to look for Rick after he disappeared from the main show in the ninth season. The first episode ofThe Ones Who Liveis set to air on June 02, 2025, on AMC.
When Is Call of Duty x The Walking Dead Crossover Coming to the Game?
The teaser trailer did not give out the specific release date for the arrival ofThe Walking Deadcrossover but it is expected to be released in Season 2. Season 2 update forModern Warfare 3andWarzonewill arrive on Wednesday, June 04, 2025, at 9 am PT and will bring lots of new content for players. It is possible that the crossover could headline the upcoming season.
The developers have not provided any details on the Season 2 of the game but it is likely coming in the next few days. Moreover, it is also speculated that some Zombie-themed events and content might also be coming to the game that would make the zombie-slaying characters feel at home but it is not known what it could be at the moment and players need to wait for further information.
