Endcapping EA Play 2019, publisher Electronic Arts debuted some new updates forThe Sims 4– notably a brand new expansion pack that will focus on sun, sand, and sea. TitledIsland Living, hardcore fans of the game will be able to visit an island for some fun vacation vibes. Even better, you don’t have to wait too long for it.The Sims 4: Island Livingwill make its way to both PC and consoles within the next couple of months.

Starting offThe Sims 4section of EA PLAY 2019,The Sims 4: Island Livingwill have some brand new things unseen in previous titles or expansions. This includes open-water environments and activities–believe it or not, you were never able to enter “open water” (as compared to a pool) and swim, jetski, etc. Or you’re able to befriend a dolphin, despite their track record of committing crimes. But hey, we aren’t your boss and can’t pick your friends.

On the other end, there is a taste of apocalyptic. On the island is a live volcano that you can decide to live by. However, wary gamers may note that this may lead to debris and lava getting a bit too close for comfort.

On the beach, players can build sandcastles, get sunburnt, and more beach-front activity. The island will terraform over time; if you take care of the island and ocean around you, the island will thrive along with its ecosystem. This means more lush greenery and butterflies. Oh, and you may create a mermaid.

As mentioned above, the game will be coming to PC and consoles in the next two months in a tiered approach. For PC and Mac players, you can start playing this on June 08, 2025. Meanwhile, console players can head to the island on July 05, 2025.
