As many of us are finding ourselves with more time on our hands than usual, now is the best time to get as creative as possible. Reddit userFreeupvotesforsalehas certainly made good use of their time by crafting an outstandingLegend of Zeldadiorama with the help of a good old Gameboy.

This isn’t the first time Joe Schaefer, as they are known onInstagram, has tooled up and created something unique. Previously, Joe turned their hand to a similar model but instead using a sleeping Bulbasaur as their inspiration. Now, however, Joe decided to modelThe Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worldsdiorama using the shell of a Gameboy for a friends birthday (what a great friend) to go along with the friend’s huge collection of Zelda memorabilia so that it could be displayed with the rest of their stuff.

As previously stated, Joe used a replacement shell - it’s ok, no Gameboys were harmed in the making of this diorama - but to maintain a good weight, the interior of the shell is weighted down to around five grams or so from the original weight of a GameBoy. Next, the sword and plinth were custom modeled then resin printed and painted to offer a unique and a one of a kind quality. What makes this diorama even more interesting is that the sword can actually be drawn from the plinth.

Joe used foam that’s used to fill in the space where the Gameboy’s screen previously lay and worked his masterpiece from this focal point adding small rocks, foliage and moss to give his art a realistic touch. The hardest part, states Joe is “Once I have it exactly how I want it, I take a million photos and take it all apart to start gluing the pieces down. I say this is the hard part because I have to recreate what I did organically the first time, but with only one shot because I’m gluing the things down.”

My latest Gameboy build for @mikewallacedesign. I know he already posted it, but here’s a few extra pics of the layout progression. This was definitely a fun build and I can’t wait to do some more! #legendofzelda #legendofzeldabreathofthewild #breathofthewild #zelda #nintendo #nintendoswitch #hylianstribe #hylian #mastersword #link #princesszelda #gameboy #retrogaming

I do hope that Joe has more time on their hands as I’m sure there are plenty ofZeldafans who would love to get their hands on this and would probably pay good money to do so!
