Gamescom opening night has been full of exciting news, including the long-awaited reveal of the newest LEGO game from developersTT Games. The reveal trailer is jam-packed with appearances of all the most loveable and most despised characters from the Batman world, including Bane, who just so happens to be voiced by Matt Berry.
TT Games' last Lego game was Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which was released in 2022 and garnered a deep appreciation from gamers for its stunning graphics, thrilling combat, and, of course - being able to play through all nine Skywalker saga films.
The Lego Star Wars game left a lasting impression on fans, and now they want more. Luckily, the wait is almost over, and at least now we know what’s coming.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2026.
The Dark Knight Is Back In An Open-World Lego Game
The reveal trailer showcases everything fromstealthy maneuversto all-out brawls, batmobile chases, a stacked cast of characters, and legendary voice lines that bring us rushing back to our favorite Batman moments.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a brand-new open world action adventure videogame that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games, and jam-packed with Batman nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games’ signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor.
The humor definitely shines through in the reveal trailer with several very witty and hilarious moments, like when Bane was in the middle of a menacing speech but accidentally stepped on a Lego, screaming in pain, “AH! Who put that there? I could’ve really hurt myself!”.
One of the interesting things to note about this reveal is thatTT Gameshas stated it’s inspired by not only Batman movies, but games, TV, and comic books as well. With such a strong cast of characters and TT’s undeniably great sense of humor, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight looks not only to be a thrilling action-packed Batman adventure, but it’ll probably make you laugh a lot along the way.
Although much of how the game will work remains a mystery, the reveal trailer gives us a pretty solid look at some impressive combat, funny and well-written voice lines, and an epic crime-fighting adventure.
