This article on the original Netflix series The Brothers Sun Season 1 Episode 2, “Favor for a Favor,” contains spoilers.

I will say that I do loveThe Brothers Sun‘s taste in music. The soundtrack perfectly complements the series’ dark sense of humor. Take the opening scene in the second episode titled “Favor for a Favor.” Charles is enjoying the funky sounds of “Surrender to Me” by the FireCityFunk while chopping up a dead body.
Let’s just say the man enjoys his work. Eileen then asks her oldest son to take Bruce to school before he runs errands. And by errands, I mean taking the head of the dead assassin around town to find out who he was. However, instead of taking Bruce to campus to take his test, they head out to a shady warehouse to dispose of the body.

This leads them to a local underworld hoodlum named Spider. When Charles asks to identify the man who tried to kill him, he panics. He says, “If they are after you, no one can protect me,” after the eldest Sun promises him the Jade Dragons’ protection.

Netflix’sThe Brothers SunSeason 1 Episode 2 Recap: Who Kills Spider?
We aren’t sure who kills Spider in front of Charles (Justin Chien). What we do know, the killers who are dressed in dinosaur costumes for a child’s birthday party, kill the broker before he can tell Charles who the assassin worked for.
Right now, we assume Charles is working from the premise Sleepy Chan hired local muscle. That means Charles wants to find them and kill them. Luckily, Bruce (Sam Song Li) warns Charles, but he interrupts Spider before he can give him pertinent information on their attackers.

Luckily, the brothers escape. While Eileen (Michelle Yeoh) is playing mahjong, Charles drops off Bruce at school so he can take his test. As we know, it’s worth 8% of his grade. While taking the test, Charles gets bored and takes a walk around campus, because he saw some coeds eating churros.

Who is Alexis inThe Brothers Sun?
Alexis (Highdee Kuan) is a local district attorney. She is headstrong and ambitious (she wants to run for president someday) and happens to be a second-generation immigrant from Taiwan. Alexis immigrated while she was young. She is now assigned to the case of the bombing at the club where Charles and Bruce escaped.
Using surveillance footage, she tracks down TK, who gives up his best friend, Bruce. When they visit campus to question the young man, they run into Charles, whom Alexis grew up with. It’s obvious, almost like in the film Past Lives, that these two are madly in love with each other.
Unfortunately for Charles, he is wearing a jacket with blood all over it. Something he has been conditioned to block out of his mind. Bruce creates a distraction by letting out Spider’s water dragon from the car. Charles then escapes with Bruce.
The Brothers SunSeason 1 Episode 2 Ending Explained: Who comes to Bruce’s Test?
We aren’t sure who the ominous woman who shows up on campus is. Bruce is given a makeup test, where he meets a girl named Grace. She finds Bruce adorable. Even when he tells her, he takes a nervous “poo” before every improv show.
That’s when Bruce spots the ominous woman standing in the campus courtyard. When he tries to escape by leaving the classroom, she’s in the hall and walks up to him. She doesn’t look happy. walks up to him down the hall. The episode ends.
