The slew of newly added mechanics and immersive elements to the franchise had already placed Tears of the Kingdom on a pedestal alongside some of the best open-world games of all time, and now, one player has discovered yet another minute but immersive detail that has slipped under the radar all this while.

Most Tears of the Kingdom players are quite well acquainted with the animal-feeding feature in the game, but so far fans have been under the impression that onlyhorses, dogs, and Dondons can be fed. Redditoru/Zagrebianhas discovered yet another animal in the game that players can feed, and it’s something most players wouldn’t expect. In a new post, the player showcased how they managed to feed a boar by tossing an apple right in front of it. The boar does appear startled at first, but it eventually waddles up and gobbles down the apple.
It should be noted that this is more of a detail-oriented thing that has been discovered by the player. Unlike feedingdogs, horses, and Dondons, which are deeply ingrained in the game’s mechanics, boar feeding seems more like an unintended, but nevertheless immersive, element. That being said, it doesn’t really take away anything from the discovery itself, as it goes on to bear further testament to Nintendo’s impressive attention to minute details in the game.
Another player has highlighted a really interesting way to utilize this detail for their own benefit. RedditorDry-Cartographer-312adds that the behavior of boars and squirrels was a great indicator of the items players can find lying on the ground. For instance, if you see a squirrel eating something, this would imply that there are acorns or nuts on the ground, which should help you get a better idea of what to expect before getting your hands dirty yourself. Likewise, boars eat all plant matter, so if that is what you are looking for, you should be looking for areas filled with boars. So next time you are out foraging, it is probably worth a shot to look at your surroundings as well to make your search much more efficient.
