Giant Squidtook the time to painstakingly hide dozens of white shells all around Sword Of The Sea for us lucky players to discover. I love a goodcollect-a-thonas much as the next guy, but I can’t lie. Some of these shells aretoughto find.

While most levels in the game have about 10 shells to collect, there are a couple of exceptions to this rule. The levels called Forbidden Valley and Frozen Drifts each contain just one, single solitary shell for you to track down.

This is probably for the best, as each of these levels has youridingon the back of either a dolphin or shark the entire time. As cool as this is, these creatures are also slightly unwieldy. It’s nice we don’t have to do too much extra exploration with these different mechanics.

If you’re struggling to find the shells in either of these levels, I’ve got you covered.

Forbidden Valley Shell

First up is Forbidden Valley, the level where you’re riding a dolphin the entire time. The one shell you’re looking for isn’t until the final area, so you can play most of this one naturally without a care in the world. The final area of the level is immediately after you ride a geyser upwards into the air.

Do not beat this level without finding the shell first. You won’t be able to go back until you beat the game and unlock Chapter Select. Whatever you do, donotride the second geyser, as that progresses you into the next level.

Break the green crystals to jump up the first set of waterfalls. You’ll notice another large waterfall to your right. Around the backside of this waterfall is a stair step path to allow you to reach the highest area here. Take a look back towards the entrance of the area, and you’ll see the shell perched on top of a stone tower, pictured above.

Thankfully, reaching the shell isn’t too difficult. Up on this high area you found from climbing the stair step path, there’s a lantern patch that you may light up. Doing so spawns a jellyfish between this plateau and the tower with the shell.

Simply time your jump to land on top of the jellyfish, and it will propel you to the shell on the other side of this gap.

From here, you’re free to finish the level. There’s nothing left to collect in Forbidden Valley.

Frozen Drifts Shell

Frozen Drifts swaps the dolphin out for a great white shark. Like the previous level, this one also just has one shell, and it’s at the very end once again. As such, just play most of this level naturally.

Once you reach the final area, you’ll need to follow these directions. You’ll know it’s the final area, because it’s covered in waves of transparent, slick ice. The rest of the level is mostly snow-covered, so you’ll definitely notice this drastic switch to the slippery, see-through ice.

You’re looking for the giant red tower sitting on top of the mountain in the back of this area. Go to the tower, then travel down the backside of the mountain to find a patch of lanterns waiting at the bottom.

Light the lanterns, and a new path with rise up from the clouds, featuring a giant sword and your prized shell at the end of it.

There’s no other catch here. Just go claim the shell, then beat the level to move on.
