While a majority of Microsoft-published Xbox One gamesare also on PC,Insomniac Games’Sunset Overdriveis one of the few titles that never made the jump despite fan requests. That being said, it seems like the wacky open-world third person shooter may finally be making it way to PC. As spotted byGematsuearlier today,Sunset Overdrivehas been rated for PCby the ESRB.
Just like on Xbox One, Sunset Overdrive is rated M for Mature, but that isn’t the important thing about this rating. While ratings leaks from places like Taiwan and Korea are sometimes doubted, an ESRB rating basically guarantees thatSunset Overdriveis releasing for PC in some way, shape, or form fairly soon. That being said, a PC version of the game was rated by the Korean Game Ratings Boardback in May, which gives more validity to an impending release.
Personally, I’ve been interested inSunset Overdrivesince its initial reveal, but have never able to play it because I don’t own an Xbox One. I have wanted Insomniac Games and Microsoft to bring the game to PC for years, so I’ll definitely be pickingSunset Overdriveup when it comes to PC, even if it’s limited to to Microsoft Windows Store. It will also be interesting to see how much it influenceMarvel’s Spider-Man, the latest title from Insomniac Games that I loved.
For now, we do not know when Microsoft will unveilSunset Overdrive’sPC port; that being said, DualShockers will be sure to let you know when they do make an official announcement. Microsoft is holdingXO18 in Mexico Cityin a couple of weeks, and that would be a fitting time and place for an announcement. Microsoft also recently revealed their plans to expandXbox Game Pass to PCin the future. ConsideringSunset Overdriveis already part of the service, I wouldn’t be surprised if ended up being available through it on PC.
If you just pick up the game for Xbox One right now,you can do so on Amazon. If you’d rather have access to a ton of other titles as well asSunset Overdrive, you can pick up a6-month Xbox Game Pass subscription instead.
