Looking at the big games launched last week on Steam, it wasn’t a huge surprise to see a record-breaking amount of users becomes online on Steam.A Plague Tale: Requiem,Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2Campaign Early Access,Gotham Knights,Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection,Football Manager 2023Early Access, and the PC version ofPersona 5 Royalwere among the big titles that were launched last week, which resulted in many users planning a gaming-oriented weekend.

When the Steam concurrent players count reached a new all-time high,Counter-Strike: Global Offensivewas the biggest contributor with over 1.05 million players.Dota 2placed second with 750K users, followed byPUBG: Battlegroundswith 440K players. The fourth and fifth places belonged toApex LegendsandLost Ark.

Regarding the fact that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is still a few days away from its global launch, and the fact thatWarzone 2.0is yet to arrive, we can probably expect another record-breaking concurrent player count on Steam in November. The new season of Apex Legends will also be available next month, which could add up even more to the game’s current audience.

The arrival of Steam Deck can also be counted as one other reason for the recent surge in the number of concurrent players on Steam. Thanks to Valve’s hand-held gaming platform, Steam is no longer tied to stationary PCs or laptops, and can actually be used on the go.

Also, keep in mind that Steam does count players as active users when they are browsing the store or the Steam communities. So, it is safe to say that a part of those 30 million players was not actually playing games during that period.
