The excellent Split Fictioncaps off itsside storieswith another transformation tale as the party is turned into toothpaste-toting teeth and sent on a mission to survive many delicious sweets. To navigate the Birthday Cake side story, players must also defeat a dastardly dentist.
In Birthday Cake, Mio and Zoe are turned into little sentient teeth with googly eyes. The tooth forms have physics similar toFall Guyscharacters, so they’re a little looser with gravity as you platform around. They can still jump, perform air dashes, and have gained the ability to ground pound.

Even back in the 90s, gaming was better with friends.
Birthday Cake has one of the most annoying bosses in all of Split Fiction and can very easily force some rage quits. Luckily, DualShockers has all the information you need to survive the most sickly-sweet stage in Split Fiction.
Level Walkthrough
Run up the candy cane and follow the platforms until you reach the chocolate doors with two lollipop buttons. Both players need to ground pound these buttons at the same time to open the doors.
In the next area, quickly jump across the waffle platforms. The individual waffle segments will break apart when you step on them.

Run across the chocolate logs and dodge the swinging lollipops. Follow the path to a green spot on the ground with golden light coming from it. Both players need to ground pound this green spot to open a path to the next area.
We weren’t kidding about the Fall Guys physics. This means you’ll have a little more hang time when jumping/dropping, which you can use to your advantage to cross gaps.

In the next area, jump onto the platforms and avoid the spinning chocolate fingers. you’re able to use the balloons coming out of the chocolate ocean below as platforms to proceed as well.
Once you reach the yellow jelly, ground pound it for some extra elevation. You must do this a second time to get past the spinning lollipops to a third jelly patch where both players need to smack their heads into the green spot on the ceiling in unison to create your next path forward.

Continue on to spot a terrifying sun in the distance. You’ll see a lollipop button that both players need to ground pound, creating a cannon that will fire them to Mio’s birthday cake.
Proceed on while avoiding the hazards on each tier of the cake until you reach a patch of Rice Krispies. Both players need to ground pound here again to uncover another yellow jelly spot that can launch them higher.

Continue the ascent until both players reach the top of the cake. You’ll see five candles around the perimeter. Go in the opposite direction of your partner and dash into each candle until all five are lit. This will summon the boss.
Dentist Boss Fight
Using the button prompt, attempt to wiggle out of your dentist’s chair. The robotic dentist will try to drill into whichever character doesn’t break free in time. The freed player must dash into their trapped tooth partner in order to save them.
In its first phase, the boss has a couple different attacks it will use against the players:
Once it has finished with the toothbrush, the dentist will spit out a set of fake teeth with springy eyes on them. The teeth will jump around and attempt to chomp on a player. After a few leaps, the teeth will flip over and reveal a white mark that you can ground pound repeatedly.
The player who lands the last hit will now be in control of the chattering teeth. They will need to guide it over to the dentist’s hand clutching the side of the stage. The teeth will clamp on, and the player will need to rapidly tap the R2 button to force the hand and its weak spot down to the floor.
The other player must then run and ground pound the weak spot on the lowered hand multiple times to break the arm.
Once the hand is gone, the dentist will pick up one of the characters, place them under one of three plastic cups, and start spinning them around in the same manner as a magic trick. The players simply have to follow the cups and have the free tooth dash into the correct cup to set their partner free.
The dentist won’t attack either of the characters when it’s performing the magic trick, so you have the chance to concentrate on the cups as they move.
The dentist will now grab a tooth using its hook and hammer it into two pieces. It will then grab the remaining player and perform another drill attack. The player that has been split in half needs to quickly track down the other piece, run into it to fuse back into a complete tooth, and then dash into the other tooth to free it from the drill.
In this phase, the dentist will stick its drill in the center of the platform, causing both rings in the ground to spin in different directions. It will now perform the toothbrush/toothpaste attack from earlier, only this time, the moves are harder to dodge due to the moving stage. It will then repeat the splitting tooth and drill attack, which has the same solution as before.
The dentist will conjure more false teeth, allowing the players to repeat the same attack process as before and destroy the dentist’s remaining arm.
This will cause the dentist to drop the drill in front of its face. Both players must then push the button prompt at the same time (triangle on PlayStation) to destroy the robot once and for all.
Just kidding! The dentist comes back à la The Terminator and will pursue both characters as they flee across the platforms towards the exit portal. Luckily, it’s easy enough to escape from, and you’ll have officially finished the Birthday Cake side story in Split Fiction!
