A recently released international trailer for the film revealed another symbiote in its full glory and fans are fully suspecting it to be none other than the minor antagonist, Lasher. While there is no confirmation yet, fans have a lot to say about the cameo in the trailer and they are not happy, to say the least.

Venom: The Last DanceTrailer Disappoints Fans

Being the big finale, it is given that Sony will be going all in forVenom: The Last Dance.Bringing in multiple symbiotes to hunt the protagonists down seems like a good place to start.

An international TV spot for the film made its way to the Internet, leaving fans in confusion. While the majority of the trailer has just repurposed the clips from the first official trailer, there were a few new shots here and there, including one which shows off a brand-new symbiote.

Fans are convinced that the new symbiote in Venom 3 is Lasher

“So MCU variants exist in the Sonyverse”: The Misleading Bar Scene From Venom 3 Does Not Gurantee a Tom Hardy vs Tom Holland Face Off Anymore

There is a good chance that the symbiote just may be Toxin (who is green for some reason and not its usual red). However, fans seem convinced that the new face is not Toxin, but Lasher, who is a little bit more on theme. The largely green symbiote was made by the Life Foundation after extracting seeds from Venom.

If this is Lasher, fans are not at all pleased with how the final look turned out, the first reason being that it is not comic-accurate. Fans are criticizing Sony for using the ‘Ctrl+C Ctrl+V’ formula whenever it comes to creating symbiotes given the fact that Venom, Carnage, and the new guy look almost identical. It was rightly pointed out that Lasher didn’t even have a mouth in the comics.

Here are just a few things fans had to say about it all:

Venom 1: Venom fights a darker version of himselfVenom 2: Venom fights a darker version of himselfVenom 3: Venom fights a darker version of himselfSony is so damn creative

Can Sony not make every Symbiote with big Crocodile teeth?!Lasher doesn’t even have a mouth!!!First you give Carnage that look with the teeth now Lasher?!Not every Symbiote has to be a Color palette switch for The Venom Symbiote

Venom 3 Trailer May Have Secretly Hid References to 3 Separate Spider-Man Universes – But Left Out the Most Important One

Great, another fucking Venom recolor like riotpic.twitter.com/4PJndYLP5X

So, if I understand correctly:Venom = black demonic Spider-ManCarnage = red VenomLasher = green VenomAm I getting it right?

That’s not my good green boy!pic.twitter.com/5yCZmYmMrG

If the new symbiote in the trailer is actually Lasher, it looks likeVenom 3has already disappointed the fans who are so tired of Venom fighting darker versions of himself.

Tom Hardy Raises the Expectations

Tom Hardyis counting the days until the release of the threequel and so are we, especially since he has hyped it up so much. In an interview withForbes’ Jeff Conway, Hardy opened up about the upcoming movie and stated that the studio had“gone much bigger”with it.

Talking about how they went all out with the film to end things with a bang, Hardy stated,

I think you got to swing for the fences with these things. It’s the last one and we want to go out with a bang, and lay the foundations for optionality and possibilities because it’s been such a great ride. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working within that field and remit of a big film with big ideas, and a lot of people looking to you to back that up.

Venomis really special to Hardy, Sony, and directorKelly Marcelwhich is why they poured everything they could intoThe Last Dance. The actor said,

To me and Kelly, it’s so important to pour in everything that we can to build on that opportunity. So by the third one now, Kelly is directing it, she’s writing – I’m attached to it at the hip and shoulder, like whatever you need, we’ll figure it out.

Hardy also talked about their attempts to do something different with the film. He stated that they tried to add a little fun and uniqueness to the usual superhero flick, all while trying to make a project that would be memorable for the audience.

Venom: The Last Dancewill be released on Aug 04, 2025.
