If you want a few pots of Wild Honey in your Refinery, you’ll have to upgrade your vacuum, get access to Starlight Strand, and make sure you know which hives you’ll need to harvest from.
Use The Resource Harvester
While at your farm, go down the stairs just behind your house. There’s a lab down there that houses yourFabricatorand yourRefinery, and you’ll need both of these devices to craft a Resource Harvester. The Harvester will cost you450 Newbucks, as well as an additional10 Cotton Plorts. While the Newbucks will be directly from your total on hand, it won’t matter how many Cotton Plorts are in your pocket, as you have to store Plorts in the Refinery before you can use them in the Fabricator.
Keep the refinery in mind after you finally get your Wild Honey as well. Honey isnot a food sourcein Slime Rancher 2, it’s a resource used for crafting in the Fabricator. As stated, you’ll need 10 Cotton Plorts before you can build the Resource Harvester, and those will prove easy for you to gather. Every Plort is earned by feeding a hungry slime a food source that’s part of their diet. In the cases of Cotton Slimes, they willonly eat vegetables.Cotton Slimes are the beige colored Slimes with cartoony rabbit ears. Between selling these Plorts for Newbucks, which remember you will also need a total of 450, you also have to place 10 into the Refinery. With this attachment built, it will install automatically, and your next step is to unlock Starlight Strand.

Opening The Teleporter To Starlight Strand
Pictured above is the teleporter to Starlight Strand, but at the beginning of your journey, it will be locked away in a tower. There’s a cave hiding the activation to this teleporter, but you’ll have a quick trial to overcome first.
You’ll occasionally come across large Slimes calledGordos. Despite their size and lumpy shape, they are as cute as their smaller brethren. Unfortunately, this girth makes them immobile, and each Gordo is blocking the path that unlocks either a secret or a new area. The way to move these Gordos, sounds inhumane out loud. You have to overfeed this Cotton Gordo until it explodes, although instead of dying it becomes a bunch of Cotton Slimes. Because the Cotton Gordo is a Cotton Slime, the same dietary restrictions apply, meaning the Cotton Gordo will only eat vegetables. You can farm extra vegetables back at your farm, but if you just keep bringing back a full vacuum of carrots, you should be able to fill the Gordo with just the ones you’ll find in the nearby area.

With the Cotton Gordo non-fatally exploded, you’ll find the opening to an underground cave. Enter the cave and reach the back, where you’ll find a pod that once activated, will open access to the teleporter to Starlight Strand.

Finding The Hives Of Wild Honey
Starlight Strand is a fairly big place, so you may get a little lost exploring this new area. All that matters for the moment is the Honey, sojust keep moving forward until you find a field full of Honey Slimes.Despite their name, they are not the source of Wild Honey, feeding them will only result in Honey Plorts. Still, you are in the correct area as long as you’re surrounded by these Honey Slimes, so start keeping your head up in the tall trees until you find the Hive.
A helpful thing to keep you oriented is that justunder this tree is a danger sign, the danger in question is that packs of Feral Slime will spawn just beyond the sign so be careful. Have some fruits and vegetables on hand, the Feral Slimes will be Honey and Rock-based and that is their respective diets, so quickly feed them if you are surrounded.

Just suck the hive and as long as you didn’t forget to make the Resource Harvester, you’ll get a few pots of Wild Honey. If you did forget, the game will simply have text on-screen telling you that you can’t gather this resource. Go and play with the Slimes if you’d like, but since you got what you came here for, you may as well leave for your farm to place the Honey into your Refinery and see what you can make with it.
What Buzz Wax Hives Look Like
At the starting location for Starlight Strand, you’ll see a Hive, and if you harvest this one you’ll only be disappointed. It’s a Buzz Wax Hive, meaning there is no Honey inside. Thankfully you won’t have to guess which is which, as long as you notice the color on the bottom of the Hive.Buzz Wax Hives have a beige liquid on the bottom, while Wild Honey Hones will be an amber liquid.Effectively, the one that looks like it has Honey is the one that has Honey.
