Among the many things to discover inSilent Hill 2, one of the most entertaining aspects scattered throughout the game is figuring out the codes for the various doors with keypads.
These locations hide all kinds of new things to uncover, helping you dive deeper into the story of this highly anticipated title.
There are a total of three keypads to unlock in the game, and all of them are practically mandatory to progress and unlock new aspects of the story and overall narrative. This is a guide on how to unlock all the keypads inSilent Hill 2.
East South Vale Keypad
Right in the middle of Sanders Street, there’s a group of buildings with a small alley in between them. Near this alley,Silent Hill 2players will find a large abandoned truck.
As you approach the truck, you’ll notice a completely burned and decayed corpse at the back. You’ll see something moving under the truck, but it won’t harm you.

If you approach the stain next to the charred body, you’ll find a note with clues on how to unlock the first of the three keypads available in the game. The note you’ll find under the truck says that the person checking the codes to enter tried all combinations from 0 to 4439.
The note also mentions that they felt very close to cracking the code. Returning to the location of the door with the keypad in East South Vale, if you want to unlock it organically, you’re able to start trying from number 4400 onward.
However, if you prefer not to wait, you can try the specific codes: 4442 for the light mode, 4444 for the standard mode, and 4446 for the hard mode. The letter indicated that the person trying to crack the code was very close.

Hospital Keypad
Later inSilent Hill 2, at some point, you’ll be able to access a hospital as part of the main story. In this hospital, you’ll find a room with a door and a keypad that requires your code.
Before deciphering the code, players must locate the doctors’ kitchen and break room. While exploring this area, you’ll come across several important items, one of which is a type of corkboard containing pertinent details.

On this board, there is a note with symbols showing the distribution of the codes for accessing the keypad room. The note clearly indicates a straight line from the third position downwards, followed by a small line to the right. This indicates the arrangement of the numbers, leading to the code 3578.
Spiral Writing Keypad
This location is among the most challenging to navigate inSilent Hill 2. This spot is located beneath the Historical Society of the town, in a rather dilapidated and eerie basement.
There is almost no lighting in this area, so using the flashlight is essential to understanding how to navigate this section.
First, to access the keypad, you’ll need to find a key lying somewhere in this basement, which you’ll use later to enter the code. Once you have the key and reach the keypad, insert it and enter the code 932 to access the area.
