The final episode ofShe-Hulk Attorney At Lawwas a fourth-wall-breaking spectacle. She-Hulk fans were mostly satisfied, and in trueMCUfashion, an unexpected scene at the end introduces Skaar, the son ofThe Hulk. No dialogue is spoken by Skaar, but his appearance and overall dower look may seem odd to those who do not know the character. Skaar wear’s the harsh nature of his existence on his face, and there’s good reason for it.

While the She-Hulk series is the story of how Jennifer Walters became the She-Hulk and tried to cope with her new powers, the show sets a few overarching MCU narratives in motion, namely the tragic story of how Skaar came to be. In episode two, we learn very little about Skaar and what The Hulk was doing on the Sakaarian ship, so let’s catch up.

Planet Hulk Saga

Skaar was originally created during the Planet Hulk Saga inThe Incredible Hulkseries byMarvel Comics. In the comics, The Hulk is banished from Earth by the Illuminati in an effort to protect humanity from the destructive nature when he is enraged. He is sent to planet Sakaar, where he ultimately becomes peaceful and falls in love and marries Caiera, a powerful Sakaarian who becomes empress alongside Emperor Hulk. During his time on planet Sakaar, Caiera became pregnant with The Hulk’s child, and this is where the story takes a tragic turn.

Caiera and her unborn child were at ground zero when the warp core in The Hulk’s violently exploded, killing Caiera and the entire village they resided in. Skaar was just in his cocoon at this point and, unknowing to The Hulk, survived the explosion. Thinking the Illuminati were the cause of the explosion, in a fit of rage, The Hulk returned to Earth to destroy them. The Hulk and Caiera’s child, Skaar, survived the explosion due to the advanced genetic abilities gained through having The Hulk’s blood coursing through his veins.

Through The Fires Of Sakaar

Skaar’s survival on the harsh hellish landscape of Sakaar did not end at the explosion. He was birthed into a hostile environment where all he knew was death and destruction, and over time, he was challenged by other foes, ultimately laying waste to all of them. Skaar grew from infancy to a fully grown young adult in just one year. At that time, he was unaware of the destruction that killed his mother and the heartbreak that caused his father to leave the planet to enact revenge on the Illuminati.

Comic books tend to be more of a reference point for the MCU to build their stories from, and while speculation can be gained from Marvel Comics, Disney and the creative minds attached to the MCU tend to take fun and meaningful liberties.

She-Hulk Attorney At Law gives little indication as to why The Hulk went back to Sakaar in episode two, but it is understood that this is where The Hulk first meets Skaar, and hopefully, in the next season, we get a look at how it all took place.
