Helldivers 2is not for the faint of heart and the gaming community knew it from the get go. The competitive players have a lot more to prove and want to be the best of the best but some can’t help to pin the blame on someone else for their shortcomings.
The gaming community fails to realize that their levels are not a reflection of their skills. Arrowhead Game Studios intended for every player regardless of level, to have the same perks and make the most of the hand they are dealt with and to improve from within.
Levels Mean Nothing in Helldivers 2
It wasn’t long ago whenthe developers released a new patch forHelldivers 2to fix certain issues like the efficiency of stratagems and the like. Unfortunately, many believed that this update broke more than it fixed and failed to live up to the expectations, and gave the players more to whine about and the most recent being the perks for higher levels being on par with starters and the game director shared the cold truth about it.
A level 90 as powerful as a level 1… seems like a skill issue 🤷♂️Helldivers is about improving yourself through experience, and a larger toolbox. Kinda like real life.
It may sound demeaning or harsh but that is what the game developers were after. The higher levels are not a good or accurate gauge to see how skilled a player is and Johan Pilestedt wanted them to work with what they have and determine how skilled they are.

This kind of video game will encourage a player to work hard and the levels are a representation of their commitment, not their skills. Perhaps the gaming community should not be quick to blame others for their problems and realize that every player is equal and no one should have better or worse perks.
Helldivers 2 Is All About Self-improvement
Pilestedt’s explanation was brief and the gaming community has no other excuse other than to try harder and not use their levels as a badge of honor or use it as bragging rights against others. Either the players with higher levels got lucky in the game or spent enough time to grind for levels.

Perks are meant to aid the players and giving them the same will prove the saying that skills pay the bills and not the other way around. Levels are just numbers and some players are naturally good at something without having any prior experience.
With this revelation from the side of the developers, the players will have no other reason to complain about the perks and will be forced to prove the skills of those with higher levels. The update made no changes regarding the perks and will have to abide by what Pilestedt envisioned for the community.
Regardless of levels, every single player is equal, and rather than compete with one another, the battles ahead are hard it would be a more viable option to set aside differences and tobe kind and work together given the weak perks.
