Kevin Feige might have bigger plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically withAvengers: Secret Warsand also possibly Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Given the scale ofAvengers: Endgame, it can be assumed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe might never be the same after the Multiverse Saga ends withSecret Wars.

One theory that has been floating around is thatSecret Warswill serve as a soft reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. How that will happen remains a subject of intense debate. However, a theory can be pieced together from small bits of information dolled out by Kevin Feige, who is excited to have the Fantastic Four and the X-Men in the MCU, sharing a screen with The Avengers and other heroes.
Scarlet Witch could be the key to bringing the X-Men into the MCU
Kevin Feige is excited about bringing the Scarlet Witch back into the MCU, as he revealed to Omelete during D23 Brazil. He said (viaDeadline):
Since then (Agatha), there have been a lot of questions about Wanda on fans’ minds… So all I can say is that we’re excited to find out when and how the Scarlet Witch might return.

Along with this,Kevin Feigehas made some additional comments about how he would like to see the MCU afterSecret Wars. He has hinted that the MCU will move into a Mutant Age in the next Saga, afterSecret Wars. He revealed (viaDeadline):
I think you will see that continue in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize. Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.

So far, the X-Men have only appeared in other universes, such as Earth 838 inDoctor Strange in theMultiverse of Madness, and whatever universe Monica Rambeau ended up in at the end ofThe Marvels. Further, we already know that the Fantastic Four will appear in a separate universe in an alternate 1960s inThe Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Suppose Kevin Feige is interested in naturalizing these multiverse immigrants in the MCU. In that case, he might require the Scarlet Witch to fuse the timelines together, hence giving her an in after she was put out of commission in theDoctor Strangesequel.

The Scarlet Witch might return as a part of Doctor Doom’s plan to dissolve the Multiverse
The rumored plot ofSecret Warswould be the creation of Battleworld at the hands of Doctor Doom so that incursions can become a thing of the past. As to why The Avengers would try to stop this might be up for debate, but this could require Doom to not only collect a few items but also a few individuals.
Doctor Doom could enlist the likes of America Chavez and Scarlet Witch (whom he could resurrect, given that Doctor Doom is usually well-versed in sorcery) to help him with the multiverse, given that these individuals are known to have powerful magic that can allow them to travel to alternate universes without causing incursions.

Marvel Didn’t Have to Fire Jonathan Majors- 1 Way MCU Could’ve Had Both Robert Downey Jr’s Doom and Kang in Avengers: Secret Wars
This could be the key that Feige is looking at to revive the Scarlet Witch, who could find a home with the mutants, which could lead her to want to include them in the MCU, creating a reverse ‘No More Mutants’ scenario. The soft reboot in the MCU could take off from here, redoing the history of the MCU.
PerhapsSecret Warscould have a montage of the new history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with all key points in the MCU’s history, such as mutants fighting alongside Captain America in the Second World War, The Fantastic Four being the first team in the MCU, The Avengers fighting alongside The Fantastic Four and the X-Men at the Battle of New York and against Thanos. This could lead to a completely different MCU history, one that makes the Mutant Saga feel more natural in the franchise.
Avengers: Secret Warsis set to hit theatres on June 09, 2025
