Sebastian Stan is already a proven actor and action star, taking up several roles in various projects from the past, notably as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, he’s been a part of other critically acclaimed projects such asGossip Girl,Once Upon A Time,The Martian, andBlack Swan.

But the 42-year-old Romanian-Amercian actor recently filmed what could be his toughest role yet. Stan was cast as Donald Trump in an upcoming movie calledThe Apprentice.
Portraying an actual person is hard enough, but acting as the 45th U.S. President comes with its own set of challenges, besides the criticism it is bound to receive from Trump’s loyal supporters. Needless to say, that’s going to be nerve-wracking.

Sebastian Stan’s gallery was filled with Donald Trump content
In an exclusive interview withVariety, Sebastian Stan revealed what he had to do while preparing to present himself asDonald Trumpin front of the camera. This isn’t the first time Trump has been impersonated on screen, as several icons have done it before.
But this is a movie that’s going to take its audience through various stages of the former president’s life. During the interview, Stan first compliments Trump, claiming that he’s much smarter than most people would want to admit.

He went on to speak about the process he went through to attain Trump’s mannerisms. He said,
I had 130 videos on his physicality on my phone… And 562 videos that I had pulled with pictures from different time periods, from the ’70s all the way to today, so I could pull out his speech patterns and try to improvise like him.

The director of the movie, Ali Abbasi, also claimed that he saw Stan’s gallery had separate folders, either named “DT” or “DT PHYSICALITY”.
Final Proof That Sebastian Stan’s ‘The Apprentice’ Won’t Sugar-coat Anything, Could Deal Huge Damage to Donald Trump’s Presidential Campaign
Stan told Variety that he had to prepare for various events that were being filmed on Trump’s life.
Ali could come in on the second take and say, ‘Why don’t you talk a little bit about the taxes and how you don’t want to pay?’ So I had to know what charities they were going to in 1983.

He said that he would spend every night in preparation for what they were about to film the following day. Not only that, but also for potential decisions Abbasi would’ve made while shooting scenes.
The issue that kept Sebastian Stan’s portrayal of Donald Trump from being an SNL-worthy performance
There are a lot of mannerismsSebastian Stanwould have had to pick up on while filmingThe Apprentice. However, Trump has a major tendency to pucker his lips whenever he talks.
TheAvengersstar revealed how he picked up on the mannerism, stating that it all came in the consonants of words that were being delivered. He said,
I started to realize that I needed to start speaking with my lips in a different way… A lot of that came from the consonants. If I’m talking, I’m moving forward… The consonants naturally forced your lips forward.
Once again, it was another task to make sure he didn’t make the movie seem like a parody of sorts.
The Apprentice: Sebastian Stan Movie’s Legal War With Donald Trump and His Team Gets Encouraging Update Ahead of Movie Release as US Elections Get Closer
Ali Abbasi also claimed that Stan’s delivery might’ve been just short of being deemed an SNL-worthy performance. He said,
If he did 10% more of what he did, it would become ‘Saturday Night Live.’ If he did 10% less, then he’s not conjuring that person. But here’s the thing about Sebastian: He’s very inspired by reality, by research. And that’s also the way I work, if you want to go to strange places, you need to get your baseline reality covered very well.
The movie already made its debut during the 77th Cannes Film Festival, but it is set to release in theaters on June 08, 2025.The Apprenticewill also star Jeremy Strong, Maria Bakalova, Charlie Carrick, and Martin Donovan as well.
