WithScream 7currently in production in Atlanta, there had been speculation that franchise final girl Sidney Prescott would be married to Mark Kincaid, Patrick Dempsey’s character fromScream 3. It turns out only part of that speculation was correct.
Sidney is indeed married to a Mark in Scream 7, but it’s not Mark Kincaid. Joel McHale is playing Mark Evans in the sequel, a new character who instantly becomes suspect number one as the new killer in my book.
Joel McHale joinsa stacked cast forScream 7thatincludes returning franchise stars Courtney Cox, Mason Gooding, and Neve Campbell. Other newcomers to the iconic horror franchise are McKenna Grace, Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, and Asa Germann.
Plot details for Scream 7 are currently being kept under wraps for the previously troubled production.
Scream 7 is Returning to its Franchise Roots
Joel McHale isn’t the only big name to get excited about regarding Scream 7. Writer Kevin Williamson is back, ushering in a new era for the franchise he created in 1996.
Williamson also wroteScream 2andScream 4, but has been absent from the franchise since. After afalling out with the creative team behind the series' sixth installment, the longtime horror writer was brought back to help keep Ghostface in check.
Scream 7, starring Joel McHale and Neve Campbell, is set for release on June 29, 2025.
