The 96th Academy Awardceremony was lit with stars to celebrate the biggest award ceremony in Hollywood for achievement in cinema.Christopher Nolan’sOppenheimerwon seven Oscars this year, including a Best Director award for Chris Nolan.

However, in his acceptance speech, while holding the golden accolades, Nolan forgot to credit his previous moviestar,Robert Pattinson.Oppenheimer, based on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s 2005 biography,American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimerwas gifted by Pattinson, and it would be fair to justify that he was one of the reasons for the existence of the movie.

“There are so many people who’ve dragged me up here um Universal Studios Donna Langley thank you for seeing the potential in this um Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin,”Nolan said in his acceptance speech (viaITV).

The director also thanked his cast and crew in the 2024 movie that raked over $960 million worldwide. And he thanked Chuck Roven for putting the book in his hand.

“I can’t say enough about the incredible crew that we got together on this film umthank you to Chuck Roven for putting the book in my hands and um thank you for those who’ve been there for me and believed in me my whole career uh Dan Michael my brother Jonah my family um and the incredible Emma Thomas, producer of all our films and all our children I love you uh and uh to the academy uh just to say uh movies are just a little bit over 100 years old I mean imagine being there 100 years into painting or theater we don’t know where this incredible journey is going from here but to know that you think that I’m a meaningful part of it means the world to me.”

The director must have forgotten to mention theTenetactor, but Nolan deserved the win after eight nominations for his works spanning over two decades.

The reason this movie was the movie it was was Chris Nolan. He is singular, he is brilliant, and I’m so grateful to you.”
