Redfallhas received a new trailer entitled “Into the Night” that shows off some of the game’s vampiric adversaries.
“Halloween tastes different here. What better way to get into the spirit than with a brand new trailer highlighting some of the game’s creepiest bloodsuckers” reads the accompanying blurb. “From the devious Angler to the ever-vigilant Watcher, this is just a bite of what you and your squad will face as you fight to take back Redfall.”
What’s particularly interesting about this trailer is the focus on atmospheric horror. Previous trailers have been lighthearted - focusing on the playable characters and how they interact with the world of Redfall. The new trailer contains an actual sense of terror.

One scene, in particular, depicts the player character searching a dark blood-soaked house via torchlight. Eventually, their torch falls upon a floating creature who quickly becomes hostile. It would appear that Redfall has a few scares packed into its very large map.
The rest of the trailer shows off some of the vampiric enemies, interesting points of interest on the map and Halloween-themed locations. There’s also a massive beating heart that appears to be powering a creature, so that’s cool.
There are several kill scenes that involve the player stabbing vampires through their fiery chests. The trailer ends with chants of “blood blood blood.” I’m sensing a theme here.
Redfall is being developed byArkane Austin, best known for theDishonoredseries. The project is an ambitious one, with Prey’sentire map being able to fit in just one of Redfall’s fieldsaccording to director Harvey Smith.
