Memorize your targets and your path, and you’ll have another gold medal on your path to the trophy/achievement at seventy.
Gold Medal Requirements
The requirements for gold are high for this mission.
If you weren’t aware, gold medal requirements work differently from how they were introduced inGrand Theft Auto V. In GTA, once you achieved an objective, it was permanently checked, and you could replay the mission without having to worry about that one particular part of the challenge. For RDR 2, this is not the case —you do have to earn every objective during a play of the mission and never reload a checkpoint. So, you will have to shoot the Grays in the head and do it quickly every single time you attempt the gold medal.
Those will be the harder objectives of the 5.Sidearms and no health items can come a lot more naturally to you if you just never open your weapon wheel during the mission.Arthur will always rely on his on-hand sidearm at the start of the shootout, so you will earn this challenge as long as you do not force him to switch to a rifle or shotgun. If you never open your weapon wheel, you will also never switch to your item wheel. You are likely to fail a few of the other objectives until you master this mission, so forcing muscle memory by always earning the sidearm and health item objectives will save you time later.
Mission Start
No matter how many times you replay this mission, you cannot skip the opening cutscenes.Arthur will be forced to introduce himself to Bill, Micah, and Sean, and you are forced to watch it every time. Then, you will have to perform the titular walk, and the game will lock your speed, so you cannot sprint or run. After the most important cutscene of the mission plays, you will be given full control back as Arthur goes into the cover.
Headshots are easier than you think—auto aim will always point to an enemy’s chest, so just move your aim slightly upward and fire.Stop aiming and then re-aim to instantly lock onto the next enemy Gray. Deadeye will also greatly help, but it’s a bit more complicated. You will have to use deadeye as fast as you’re able to; if the enemy you just painted a headshot on is not directly close to the nearest enemy, you may just want to fire and start a different deadeye with the same auto-aim trick. You are on a tight clock and do not have time to spin Arthur around in slow motion to paint 5 or so Grays in the same deadeye. Not only that, but if you run out of deadeye, you won’t be able to drink anything to get it back as that is a health item.
After you kill the Grays in front of you, more will spawn just behind you. After you clear enough of them out, you will be told by Micah to run into the Rhodes gunsmith and that he’ll join you soon.

Inside The Gun Store
Once you break in through the backdoor, there will be a Gray who pops out of the corner of the wall.He should end up as nothing but an easy headshot. After you kill him, hide behind the counter where the cash register is and try to kill at least one of the other Grays in front of you before Micah comes.Micah will kill both of them if you are slow and even mock you for it, which will mean 1 or 2 headshots you didn’t earn when you may still be well short of the needed 20.
Get to the front of the store and prepare for an onslaught of Grays. Using auto aim and careful deadeye should net you a lot of needed headshots before they eventually give up and run away.
You likely won’t have time, but if you need extra sidearm ammo, you can steal it from the gun store. For whatever reason, this won’t affect your honor. Either way, now that the Grays have scattered, Arthur and Micah will realize the sheriff is still held up in his office and will go for him next.
Saving Bill
Bill got his stupid self captured while you and Micah did all the hard work. Once again, you will briefly have no control over what’s happening as Sheriff Gray tries to negotiate with you. Micah and Arthur will decide to just kill him. You will instantly enter the deadeye, even if you completely used your deadeye core up during the shootout.Paint an X over the heads of all four Grays—going left to right will be easy to do, even with how shaky Arthur’s aim may end up in this section. If you take too long, any Gray you miss will instead be killed by Micah, but this section should prove easy no matter how few or many times you’ll have to replay the mission.
The next cutscene can be skipped, but not the following one, which is Arthur mourning in his journal. The game will then tell you what medal rank you’ve earned.
