Last month, Sony included The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in the April PlayStation Plus free games. Just a month after, Gun Interactive has announced that all updates for the game is ending, and this means not only content drops, but even support,.

The last patch that houses anything tangible is set to be released this month, though players can expect updates to be released as part of the game’s transition ot peer-to-peer matchmaking.

“The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will not be receiving any further future content or support. This means that there will be no more DLC, balance updates, or bug fixes, after our upcoming May patch. You can still expect a few more patches in the future in order to transition towards peer-to-peer matchmaking. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will still be playable and is NOT being delisted from store fronts. Our community team will continue to interact with our players as we continue to celebrate The Texas Chain Saw Massacre with all of you who love this game just as much as we do.,” the studio announced in ablog posttoday.

As for the developers, they have moved on to the their next project, though didn’t say anything about it other than for gamers to “stay tuned.”

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Achieves What Dead by Daylight Couldn’t

Asymmetrical horror is a family activity.

Released in August 2023, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre multiplayer game is an asymmetrical survival horror experience. It was developed by Sumo Nottingham, with Gun Interactive handling publishing duties.

Since launch, it has received countless title updates adding new content (free and paid), as well as gameplay balance changes and more. Surprisingly, the game was released to good critical reviews, as it managed to achieve a “Strong' rating onOpen Critic. While a release on PlayStation Plus was aimed to breathe new life into the game, the revitalization wasn’t enough for Gun to commit more support for it.
